  1. I'm up for time keeping this. I think i got the jist of it from Kenny S and Willie on the night of the Frank Lauder but i will do some google research to make sure i get it right, theres always lphone calculater for those testing sums! 6.30 meet to start at 6.45. See you there.
  2. What a fantastic day. Glorious morning for a trip to cumbrae. Great to see so much blue and yellow on the road, even better that we swept up the trophies, an uplifting end to a sad week. I hope this run of success can inspire more from more. What happened in tje vets race? Ben.
  3. Agent Orange.

    Jim Daly

What a shock. So sad to hear this news tonight, my deepest sympathies go to his family. A pleasure to meet you Jim. RIP. Ben.
  4. Thats great, Cheers Colin. I did a google search last night to find the course record, to no avail. I found a 15.02 by Jim Cusick in 2004 but nothing else. Definately something to aim for. Ben
  5. Big thanks to Kenny C and Willie for timing and holding duties. Sorry for forgetting my wallet in the car, pesky skinsuits wi no pockets! I will pay double next week for sure. Well done all pb-er's! Ben
  6. Good work fellas. And too Mike who is proof a beard makes you go faster. Kenny, Greg, put the razor away.
  7. Hey thanks a lot folks. I am totally stoked right now, i hav'nt won anything since the 4x100m relay in sports day aged 9! I felt really good tonight, much prefer riding in the evening and the Asda 'smart price' flapjacks gave me plenty fuel in the engine. A very well organised event, marshalls everywhere and a fine spread after. So many marshalls infact that i mistook one for the finish/timekeeper only to round the bend and spot the 'real' timekeepers parked in a car 300m away up the hill, i was gutted until i heard the result. A rookie error, all good experiance though. Mon' the Joansin! Ben.
  8. Working tonight. See you all next week. Interested to see what times are done without the recent wind. Ben
  9. Thanks for the reminder Paul, i have now entered. Looking forward to it now.
  10. I posted 21.36 (i think) and came in 13th place overall. 50 seconds odd behind the champ Arthur Doyle. A great experience and a lot of valuable knowledge gained which can only go some way to improving my times in the future. To Willie and Kenny, a massive thankyou. How i would of loved to of journeyed home in the van with a medal round my neck. As it was all i wanted was to catch up on the sleep that my thumping heart deprived me of last night! So apologies for being so quiet. Looking forward to the next open 10TT and another round of self anihilation. Thanks to everyone for the support too. When is this wind going to cease??????? Ben.
  11. Paul, you clocked 57.2mph. Ha ha ha! Amazing, i want some of that! Can we please go to Arran and do that run again?! Am i right in assuming that you did not complete the full circuit of the island if you came over the string?
  12. Thanks for all your good wishes folks. I'll keep you posted........... Ben.
  13. Hey Hey, well done Kenny! Would you say the 10 yesterday made for good preparation? I spoke to Iain Loughran tonight to let him know of my intentions to ride the Millport TT. He asked me who else was interested in coming from JWCC. I mentioned yourself and he knows of Mike's interest. Just so you know if you do speak to him at some point. You earned that beer tonight, enjoy!
  14. Well done to Jim, Kenny C, and to Mike and James for thier joint 3rd. Infact, seriously well done to everyone, Courage in the face of adversity! I was happy to see you all made it back in one peice considering the wild conditions last night. Brian Hanrahan reporting in the Falklands war comes to mind, - "I counted seven riders going out, and seven riders came back" Ben.
  15. I'll be up for this too. Like Kenny, i've never been there before but if its like Corsica then we are surely in for a treat. That must explain the presence of Roman Abromovich's yacht moored in the bay last time i was in Largs. If i can get the saturday off work i might camp overnight on the island, - weather permitting.
  16. Cheers Paul, Still up for dumfries most definately. I have not had an email confirming my start though. Have you got a start?
  17. Big thanks to Willie , David and Kenny S for helping out last night. Esp Willie, the bikes a beaut but won't Cancellara need that mechanical doping kit back soon??? It seemed to rain for only the 20 odd minutes we were out on the road but the pb's keep dropping like flies. Well done guys and thanks for all the support you keep giving me, much appreciated. Till next week, Ben.
  18. I'll be there. I checked the weather on Metcheck and it looked favourable for Glasgow on Tuesday,Sunshine and cloud. I'm just hoping its dry. Hasta manana.
  19. Alright Chaps, I will definately be up for this. Its a good thing you put up this post early David as the teams would need to practice a bit i suppose. I'll keep an eye on the thread to see what becomes of it. Cheers, Ben.
  20. Thanks Jannza, you're timing skills much appreciated! So glad the rain held off, it could of been far more gruelling had that hefty cloud emptied on us. Ramsay, i thought you pb'd as well? Must of got confused with all the excitement. Have a great holiday. Hasta luego!, Ben.
  21. Cheers for the info guys, much appreciated. Ben
  22. Paul, I have entered the Dumfries Crit on 22nd May. Would gratefully accept a lift from you if you decide to go down. I have looked at the Eddie Morgan RR on the 10th July and will go for that when the EntryCentral opens for it. I checked out Ramsay's races but unfortunately the Davie Bell, Anderside and Sam Robinson are not open to 4th Cat riders. The Dundee RR on 16th July i will enter. Annan Classic - 12th June (3-4Cat) Anyone up for this? Lothian Flyer RR - 18th June (4th Cat) .........David Thompson, Interested? Cheers, Ben
  23. Wa-hay, nice one David! Look forward to seeing those photo's.
