  1. Looks like being a bit windy but should be there.
  2. Certainly a decent route...hope to be out.
  3. Sun splitting the sky just as I wheeled the bike into the garage. Never a fan of the road but a good run nonetheless the usual bonkers driving on display the only good thing to say is that they seem not minded to shout abuse at you like their brethren in Dunbartonshire.
  4. Iain...now can't make it on Saturday have a good one if you make it out. Would agree that routes will be dictated by the weather so will see what Sunday morning brings.
  5. Alan not original poster but it is a main bunch not a training run and bunch rules apply and I wouldn't wish a solo coast run on anybody. If push comes to shove you could always rejoin the coast at some point i.e off the whin. Up to you but faster and longer is a relative term and should not be co-opted to exclude people especially not people who have been part of main bunch previously and maybe coming back to a bit of fitness, or actually ride a winter bike as opposed to full carbon with kid on mudguards. Let the moaning commence.
  6. George, I should be OK for this - possibly the best route to the Greenock Road is Howwood and then up by the Clochoderick Stone onto the Kilmacolm Road, was this what you had planned? Iain - I might be able to do both days so will see if anything is posted for Saturday.

    A bolt

Gerard by the description it is the shank of the bolt which remains in your frame if so the bolt extractor method would be to use "easy outs" looks like a cross between a drill bit and tap with reverse thread. If so trying to usè these with small diameter bolts and a hand drill is not recommended - believe me I have tried. My advice would be to contact Tom and see if he has the tools and also essentially the jigs necessary to hold the frame in the right position to carry out the job. Hope you get it fixed.
  8. Aye Andy .....if I get away a wee bit early will let you know and head up WK road.
  9. Will need to stay at home 'till about 11:00 hours on Sunday so can't make it. Weather permitting hope to be on the road just after 11 for more local ride.
  10. If you need any additional help for the Don Smith let me know. If I am around also happy to help for the day at the road race.
  11. Warm rain. Decent bunch out today ...Millhouse a decent stop in Stewarton. Highlight of the day was the sighting of the Dalek, the guy could probably charge admission.
  12. Mark, Colin...the route out from Johnstone will mirror Glens recent run. I am unable to post a link but he has inserted a Strava map in the post titled 23rd December..we do NOT head up the bowfield. After Stewarton we will revert to sewing bee route of which I am not that familiar tbh and we can improvise a bit with regards to the return to Johnstone depending on general consensus..thinking the high ground above Shilford on the opposite side think this may include what others call "Dalek Hill" (?).
  13. Glen I'm useless at estimating distance but in the range of 60 miles I guess. I would head to Stewarton using your route via glennifer braes and neilston. Miles can be tacked on at the end if needed.
  14. Should have said 0930 at club rooms.
  15. After the packed schedule of George's Festive Rides (?) Sunday approaches and with the weather seemingly turning mild rural roads should be ok. Propose extended sewing bee route with cafe stop in Stewarton. Sensible pace planned.
  16. Nice...lugs are indeed ornate. Paint work looks intact which I believe is one area where these old colnagos suffer a bit. Will be a fun project to complete.
  17. Cheers Paul, probably not make it out in any event. Enjoy your ride.
  18. You heading to bagel basket...if so may try and meet you for a coffee.
  19. Anybody up for a run tomorrow? Sociable pace with flexible route as long as it avoids the bridge too far. Cafe stop options Dunlop Dairy or B&B...0930 at club rooms. Post if coming as otherwise I will head out solo.
  20. What Alan says....good day out.
  21. John...too much time in Renfrewshire for my liking however should be able to make this.
