Since the acquisition of a motorhome I am heading North for the weekend and have entered this. The descriptions I have read seem to suggest it is a cracking course replete with uphill sand pit. I know it is a long way but is anybody else planning on racing? Davie

Aye great day with mega fields in the races. Random gridding in the V40 race left the 3 amigos standing around for a while after the gun went but me and Paul had a decent 1st couple of laps making up some places with Davie C no doubt close on our heels. The faster start actually took away some of the bottle necks and at the tree hairpin I managed to ride it 1st time round. Nae luck to Paul with puncture but at least he got spare bike and managed to get a few more laps in. I was chuffed by not being lapped (not even close) and last year this would probably have got you around a top 30 but this year I was sprinting for 50th place so think the completion has been upped again this year. Till the next time....

After the US borefests the men's 'cross scene just got a bit more exciting. Men's race is very good.......

Well that was fun, and em eventful !? Puncture after 10 mins. Quickly fixed an on our way. Snapped spoke in front wheel after 15 mins. Removed and on our way with buckled front wheel. Small off incident after 50 mins which left some Bruce Lee chainring scratches on my leg. Second puncture when Paul L and I riding home via Peesweep, bit of a doh moment when I forgot to put the safety catch on my adaptor when screwing in my new CO2 canister. Lost all CO2. Ended up cycling from Peesweep to my car at factory in Bridge of Weir with zero air in back wheel. It's amazing what a 35mm tyre can do when you take it to the limit. Can somebody load the above onto Training Peaks...... Paul, can you confirm if these runs come under the structured banner, it will allow me to make an informed decision whether or not to take part.

Was fun but a real shock to the system after doing nowt for most of the year. Results and times now on my laps. Very impressive by Alan as not lapped & best in class for the (really) old gits though he blew all his winnings on bevy and coke on the ferry back home & ended up raving about it being better than a trip on the Trans Siberian Express. Lights? Aye probably a day trip, may post this for the weekend if anybody willing.

Don't think I will make this but for something a bit different you could try the 3 peaks of Renfrewshire; Start at Parkhill woods; Peak 1 - the Semple temple (folly at Howwood); Couple of laps of Parkhill; Road transition to Muirsheil; Peak 2 - Slate mine (all rideable); Peak 3 - Windy hill. I plan this at the weekend as I am desperately short of prep for the "real" 3 peaks. Have fun and stay safe.

Strange but true..... My new pre-ride checklist now consists of grabbing the rim and pulling it to the side, having reassured myself that this will cause lateral movement I then proceed to hold the bike an inch of the ground and drop it....only when I hear a reassuring noise do I commit to a ride.
