Tech and wine issues from the night before!! Opening the second one is never as good an idea as it seems at the time😳
Could you make it a sticky ride for most of it, then a free for all for the last 5 or 10km? That would be a bit more like a reliability ride.

I have an old Cougar frame which is probably a 52. Guessing it doesn't have mudguard clearance and eyes but will check tonight and let you know.
-
I can make you a custom lugged steel frame too if that is of interest. Have a look on Facebook at HillCycles.
i do them at cost as it is a hobby.

I went up Old Largs road to run round Greenock Cut this morning; perhaps not one of my better ideas. I confirm that running on snow covered ground, while gentle underfoot, is very tiring!
The roads were mostly clear but many slushy areas and some longer covered stretches.
You might want to stick to the coast.

If you are struggling, I can probably get the bolt out for you; if you bring it down to Langbank.

I have had to pull out of this. I transferred my entry to someone else on the organiser's website.

What took you so long?? I'm up for this! I would like to be returning on the Monday after I drink Paul McDonalds weight in beer(I'm far to heavy) and watch the Pros!
However you need to register your interest before the 31st october 2018. I set up a Team named JWCC so we are all on same start etc. and you dont end up having to do the event on your own(3 peaks me 2017) anyone interested just post your email and I can send you an invite to the Team and it will supposedly increase they chance of us getting an entry. You dont need to pay to register just enters us into a ballot.
The only way to guarantee entry is do it as a business and pay 110euro each...
So if interested send me your email wait for invite... register and we wait till November... easy
ROUTE: 240Km Here
***It would also be great to see all the JWCC Groups on this trip as there are routes for all abilities and to be honest I'm going for the Atmosphere, Race and the Beer and its only in Holland! Route Lengths are 60km/100km/125km/150km/200km/240km
Not being a beer drinker, I probably could not manage the (skinny git.... just jealous) Paul McD’s weight. But I do like a challenge!
Not so keen on the 20% climbs but how hard can it be? It’s only 3000m climbing in 240km.
PaulL send me the link. Tomfhill at Mac dot com.

Thanks for the ride. Really felt the lack of miles after about 60km. A bit stiff and sore down the left side but no major damage.
Thanks to Couttie for shepherding me back!

Hope to be there. Club rooms 9:30

Thanks Alan.
I have run round Greenock cut a few times and thought it would be worth riding. I have gone over the Erskine bridge then up the hill to Loch Hamish and beyond. That is a tough climb and needs fully functioning brakes for the descent on the way back!
I just wondered if there was anything similar nearby that I was missing..

If you are looking for the crankset to go with this, I have brand new 105 black 11-speed 52/36, 172.5, still in box. £70
-
I’m looking for some off-road routes within easy access of Langbank.
Thinking messers McLean & Couttie might be able to assist?
Anyone else?
-
Hooked. Let me know what suits everyone. Reasonably flexible around then.
Now for wine...
-
Would that be out on the 30th Nov and back 3rd Dec?
If so count me in..

Change of plans here. ( happily since it is bucketing).
Have a good one.

Hi Paul
Came to this late..........as usual.
I did Roubaix on tubeless and have ridden them for about three years. Not an issue, no punctures (that I noticed). In the end I replaced the first set of tyres.
Made the mistake of putting them on my mtb, rode it for a an hour and then forgot about them for several months and they broke the seal. Unfortunately no gas canisters so I could not re-inflate. In the end I put tubes in the mtb. However you have just reminded me that Santa can bring me a nice new preload pump. Since I already have two track pumps, it may well be time to offload a couple!
I run tubulars on my TT and summer bikes and always carry a sealant canister. They work up to 3-4mm cuts!
In short, it is the way to go, as far as I am concerned.
