I spied 2 riders yesterday on there way through Brookfield, one of them looked to be Ian McCauley.

I have two rear wheels - one for road and and one for use with a turbo. I had two cassettes which were exactly the same (12-25). When it was time to replace the worn cassette on the road wheel and chain I replaced it with a different sized cassette. Is it better to have the same size of cassette on each wheel or does it matter? Thanks J

This may be old news but just noticed tonight when I drove past on my way up to Bishopton. there is no longer any car parking at Westferry. Big stone pillars have been put across the entrance to the car park. At least we got to finish this years events first :-)

Ken, Do you have any thoughts on a route? I'm a maybe to come out for a few miles but haven't been out for ages. J

I've the same issue as Greg, would like to ride but need to be away by 11am. This was my first event 2 years ago and am sure I get beat my time!

Weather conditions were far from ideal and did consider staying in bed, but the night before I had checked by bike, put on my new wheels, pumped up my tyres and left out my kit so off I headed for the 10:15 ferry in the pouring rain it could only get better! It was dry when I headed up to the start but decided to keep on my ultra packable and waterproof shorts . Bit of a lung buster getting up the hill which was just around the first corner, was then shouted at from the side of the road to get into a bigger gear (I had two left) to take advantage of the downhill which I then did, felt like I was flying through the puddles all the way out to the turn and was looking at a reasonable time! Soon as I turned there was a headwind and driving rain! Struggled all the way back along the bumpy tarmac and missed the delight of the downhill on the last corner as there was so much water on the road it was like a river, knew the finish line was close but visibility was so bad I couldnt see the finish! Did eventually manage to cross the line. Got back to the pavillion and was given a spot prize of bottle of wine and chocolate Will be back next year to improve on my time Really enjoyed the riding about and watching the road race in the afternoon.

I was thinking about maybe doing the 10 mile TT as I haven't yet done a full 10 mile. Anyone know what the course is like?

Sports injury clinic at hampden is very good and relatively easy to get an appointment with. Also know achilies heel have several people who are cycling orientated, but I went more local last time.

I've already paid too and Friday night is good for me. I will try and be there before 8.30 tonight.

Georgetown road was due to close yesterday for roadworks. Is there an alternative plan to switch to Westferry?
