Alan McLean got a reaction from Jannza in Jets training 13/1
Well done the bagel boys for going out today.
We also had a bunch of eight Jets (12-15) and coaches enjoying the sleet on a 35 mile circuit down to Glengarnock, Barrmill and home.
Highly Belgian. Sleet, rain, wind, farm slurry. Stopped at the wee shop in Barmilll which does tea, toasties and hot Bovril. Kenny has a season ticket now.
The young riders handled it all very well and much tighter than our adult rabble. Some of them looked too comfortable so the mileage is going up!

Alan McLean got a reaction from james-maclaren in Race season has begun!
Duncan and I were at the refurbished Commie pool in embra for the New Year's Day Triathlon.
Yes, the year was only 12 hours old, the party goers were still staggering home through Holyrood but Duncan, me and three hundred others were smashing it for 400m in the pool, three times round Arthur's Seat by bike and once on foot.
Cool, damp but sunny.
Nice big crowd of hungover passers by and the come on daddy brigade lurked by the bottom roundabout to wince at my TT bike handling skills on the 180 deg roundabout turn. I stayed upright, others didn't.
Anyway got a PB, a sixth overall and second vet but was given the sympathy prize for 1st vet cos the guy that beat me was 2nd overall. I just love the one prize per person rule.
So, who's next? Track league on 9th?
See you out there and in there.

Alan McLean got a reaction from KennyS in Pies and pursuit-19th dec, team wanted
Hi
Yes this is a nuisance but I am taking Katie anyway so will also take my kit in the hope of a ride.
There are bound to be cancellations.
At least I can enjoy the atmosphere and spend 30 minutes on rollers and have a pie.
As Al says, assuming no rechaifage, refauchage, refucgahe, whatever, it was only ever going to be 8 laps of pain or maybe 16 if we got through a round. I think Janette has cut it to 2k.
Bonus Christmas Prize Question!
Firstly assume SC run a standard tournament knockout with no separate youths comp, refauchage thing or 3rd/4th place race.
If there are forty-one teams then how many heats must there be to produce a winner?
Answers to my premium rate phone line or post here if too lazy to phone.
Winner gets a new custom Pinarello with Di2 electronic shifting and Zipp Firecrest 202 wheelset personally delivered by Bradley Wiggins and his nan and then goes for a pint with Brad and Mark Cavendish.*
Alan
*Terms and conditions apply. Winner may not receive actual wheelset, or bike, or see Bradley or Mark. But his nan might come. (no, not really. Ed)

Alan McLean got a reaction from Jannza in Isn't Scotland brilliant?
On Wednesday I was in a world class velodrome drinking really good coffee, trying to race and watching some excellent trackies.
Today I was at a world class MTB venue, Glentress, with well marked, immaculate trails for all abilitities. I rode for three hours. I had a HOT SHOWER followed by more coffee with a ham, Brie and chili panini.
Tomorrow I will probably go for a ride with the best club in the world.
See you out there

Alan McLean got a reaction from Darryl Gunson in Saturday 8th Dec
Darryl, just teasing about the mudguard, the conditions were so grimy that nothing really worked.
Also like to point out that we had five JWCC driving on the bunch, providing Jens-like levels of raw diesel power. :banana

Alan McLean got a reaction from martin in Ticketmaster single seat nonsense
Warning.
Ticketmaster will not allow you to leave a single seat vacant at the Hoydrome.
I found a block of five but was not allowed to book only four of them.
Finally found a bigger block so I will be there at the Friday night finals.
15 quid per ticket is good value for three hours racing when I recently got hit with a bill of nine quid each for the cinema with those glasses. In Paisley.
See you at the UCI World Cup track event. In Glasgow. (Can't believe I just wrote that :banana )

Accred 3 good value for 2 hours of hectic riding. Got a proper cough and everything...
