AndrewD
Not much happening with the Main Bunch this weekend, so as Billy says time for a bit of a mash up. Set the run as an intermediary run to try and open the field up a bit. Run is Miller St, Erskine Bridge, Milngavie, Strathblane, Kilsyth, Tak me Doon, Arnprior, Aberfolye (cafe stop), Drymen and back to Miller St. Approximate round trip of 87 miles 8:30 start at Miller St. Come on, you know you want to. Members Iain67
Hi all I am new to the wheelers and was going to join the 30 milers this weekend. Can you please let me know if you are still meeting, or is this now a joint run to Aberfoyle? Many thanks
GreigS
Richie I have no idea as yet but I'm sure someone will post up cause I'm having a break from it G
Mark O
Iain, Keep an eye on the forum for a thread from the 30 milers. If not, and you think you can do the distance, go on the run to Aberfoyle. I'm sure they'll look after you. You'll be surprised just how far you can go it riding in a group. Just let it be know you're a newbie and make sure you have plenty to eat. M
Members Richard
Are you sure about the distance, Andrew? I'd be dead surprised if it's possible to visit all the places on your route and end up with anything less than 100 miles. Nice run, though. Hope you get a good turnout. Members Iain67
Hi Mark O thanks for the kind response. Need to be back for noon on Sunday, so Aberfoyle not possible. If no 30 miler on Sunday I'll join in a future run. Enjoy Aberfoyle......
2023 Subscriptions BoydJohnston Posted July 26, 2013 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted July 26, 2013 Sounds like a good run, Andy. Unfortunately I can't commit to it yet - waiting to see if I've got a place in a golf competition on Sunday, which I'll find out tomorrow. If no golf, then I'll make this run. AndrewD
CHANGE OF PLAN: weather looks very poor for central belt early on, instead cycle down to ardrosson up the coast to largs, old largs road, then old greenock road to bishopton, Houston, club, then if anyone has the legs do a magic loop via kilmacolm and lochwinnoch if you want some extra miles , something like that

2023 Subscriptions BoydJohnston Posted July 28, 2013 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted July 28, 2013 Rain's too heavy. Will not be going out until later.
AllanM
Very enjoyable run with Andrew and Elaine. 65 miles to Dalry, West Kilbride, Largs and back via Brisbane Glen and Old Greenock Road. Bit wet for the first 64 miles, very mild and no wind. Two out of three ain't bad. Andrew treated us to coffee and cakes. In return we listened (nervously) to his stories of good looking guys, wigs and Alice bands!
2023 Subscriptions Elaine Muirhead Posted July 28, 2013 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted July 28, 2013 Great run today, despite the rain. Lots of laughs and not forgetting the wildlife rescue (wee bunny that we thought was a hedgehog). Bike washed and serviced by Mr M this afternoon which was even better! Guest EPCC
Well played not the nicest of days but any day on a bike is a good day
AndrewD
I concur, a very enjoyable run out today with Allan and Elaine. Advantage to the poor weather was the free run of the cycle tracks. At one point expected to see Rolf jump out the bushes when we got ourselves involved in an animal rescue. I think the change of plan was a good idea, cheers for the company today.
