  1. Nice one Robbie, was good fun in the sun!
  2. That's great Robbie.......... and Alex!
  3. Hi Robbie, I am heading out tomorrow morning so it would be good to have company. Still planning on the coast route through Kilmacolm? If so, meet at Pullman? If other direction I'll head to track at Amaretto.

    Winter Bogs

Started at sea level from Woodhall roundabout in the hope of avoiding ice and snow.... so was pleased to find probably the only usable road in the west on our usual coastal route to Largs. Solo for much of the way but knew there would be a small bunch following on, met Scott Newman to help share the work from Skelmorlie into Largs. The bunch of Paul, Joanne, Cedric and Galeb duly turned up and after a welcome coffee break we re-routed back up the coast with a strong and steady through and off. Great weather, stunning views of the Clyde coast and another good workout, thanks to all.
  5. well that was windy and we got the strength training in that Charlie had promised... a good workout...and glad there were 10 of us out to share the load!
  6. Should be ok, strong southerly wind forecast for Sunday so maybe worth considering reverse direction to avoid block headwind on long coastal stretch??
  7. Hope fog clears tomorrow or it will have to be track to Kilbirnie and back!
  8. Five go to Largs Ouch that hurt, not in all-out effort but self generated wind chill factor on top of well below 0C air temps! Duly re-vitalised in BB then back via Haylie with glorious sunshine and scenic views throughout, chapeau to Charlie, Glen, James and Paul.

    Winter Bogs

Once over the initial shock of early morning chilled air and gingerly balancing on icy paths for part of my way to the start of today's ride the frost free coast road and bright low sun proved it was worthwhile making the effort to get out and about. Enjoyed my first experience of this bunch, slightly faster for me on the run to Largs but that was what I hoped and expected. Thanks to Paul for his encouragement and all of the bunch for keeping it steady paced! Good to have company in Charlie and Darryl for BB and ride home with the sun on our backs!
  10. Will be at Bishy for 10.15...... and aim for BB at least.
  11. Should be ok for a few days over the coming week
  12. Hi Gary, it’s usually a group workout coordinated by Billy from his library of pain and suffering vids! There is a small payment of a few £ for hall, heat & light.
  13. The phrase 'bitterly cold' was made for mornings like this, it took us the best part of an hour before emerging from the freezing fog (-5C) into a welcome low sun and glorious views across and down the Clyde. A sensible pace was agreed so we could keep an eye out for and call any patches of ice, the small bunch rotated evenly and enjoyed the dry coast road before a relaxing break was taken in Largs at BB then Haylie and home. Thanks to Charlie, James, Stevie and Ian for going out and staying out, turned out to be a good call!
  14. A decent but shorter ride, as running late, for me today. Got to Largs and BB first having cut down Clune Brae to make up time then headed home with the bunch via Haylie Brae. We had 10 (?) out today and nice to meet first timer Galeb.
  15. Good day for a bike ride, however at 09.00 it was so cold it hurt! Starting from the club Billy, James and I were running a bit behind the bunch starting from Red Smiddy and eventually reeled them in at Wemyss Bay. This gave us a good sized bunch of eight on to Largs (incl. BB) and back by Haylie Brae and track. Nice to have no road spray or wind - James first up Haylie, Gerard took the 30 at Largs and Billy at Kilbirnie!
  16. Should be there for 0930 (James - rolling through BoW, Main St. about 0910)
  17. After puncture on the descent into Dalry got stopped ar red lights, tyre was still soft so had to stop and manually inflate it, DC returned and we did a two up back via Kilbirnie. Glad the sun was out, still a nice ride...good bunch!

New look to The Bunch, however we still have the old and largely obsolete 'Wheelers' Strava embedded on the Home Page. Can this be replaced by the JWCC (official) Strava link which is the accepted standard for recording member activities?
  19. Yip, up for a rerun (full original route).
  20. Really enjoyed the 'winter' run in the sun, heavy winter bike and all (despite living with slipping gears)! Thanks to a sensibly paced bunch.
