  1. I may have forgotten how to do these! Is there a cafe stop en route?
  2. They have EHU so phone up and book, the warden could not have been more helpful.
  3. Thought I would share a few pictures of my overnighter on Islay last week with my boys. Just cycled from Port Ellen to Port Charlotte and camped overnight. Islay is quite stunning and I have never seen such a huge and clear night sky. I may have to work out how to carry a telescope by bike too.
  4. This is a bit back to front but we ended up with an impromptu run with four of us today going over the Crow Road in glorious autumnal sunshine. Details sent to our COVID-19 official, Eric to keep everything in order. Hope to start getting some more runs on here and we can get more of us cycling as the great club we are (all within whatever grab bag of rules are in play). George and others are doing really well keeping the main bunch running, but there must be others in the club who want to get out, but feel that the main bunch is a bit much and a more sociable pace is more their kind of thing, like we did today.

We ought to get out cycling there as much as possible and then when change happens we can all sound old and irrelevant when telling anyone about what the roads there used to be like.
  7. I will be back in touch when I know I can do without the bike long enough to get it done.
  8. Any idea of price? Being my commuter bike I am always really keen to spend as little as possible on it. The ‘any colour’ bit has piqued my interest though, I could choose something really garish.
  9. The cranks on my commuting bike are a bit scruffy. Does anyone here have experience of spray painting cranks black?
  10. Very understandable, a disappointing season all round, any attempt to resuscitate it now would be a waste of effort. Back next season stronger, fitter and faster (is what my sensible brain says, but it usually gets overruled).
  11. Is it best to pre book the ferry crossing?
  12. Just spotted that I was not to go out and do this after I forgot to go out and do it. Just to be clear.
  13. Good job I checked before heading out. I would have appreciated the chance to catch my breath at a red light though.
  14. Good effort guys, I am sure a few more Wheelers could pop out for a shot next week.
  15. Is this all day or between 1800 and 2100?
  16. These fine gentlemen.
  17. I would as well, good for building strength.
  18. This we all understand and appreciate the clarity about this. My thoughts were to do some sort of segment challenge using the TT routes, which would easily fall within guidelines. My suspicion is that any subsequent posting/boasting/moaning about times on the club forum would divide opinion about club endorsement and to ensure club compliance with current guidelines it would be simpler to not have us posting. It would appear, for the sake of a couple more weeks, that waiting for day we resume some sort of club activity is the sensible way forward. May I propose that we should consider reversing the hill climb route if we get to use it this year, hillclimbing just takes much more effort these days for some reason...
  19. Is there any scope for organising ourselves a substitute for the confined events by using the Strava segment of the week format?
  20. Good to hear from you Chung, we await your salacious bike images.
  21. I think I know where it is, I shall go over the weekend.
  22. That is what I thought, there is no way that bike, which those wheels, is going off-road, ever.
