I think it's the average wattage of the group. I took it pretty easy tonight so will have dragged that down a bit.
I was 243W average.

Did the sensible thing & bought 43 inch smart TV. Has WiFi so no cable required. Sure something will go wrong.

Yeah it was tougher than i was expecting - took a good 10 minutes to catch you and Mark once you had the gap!
I'm not sure why it was off i didn't change anything but it did feel a little more fluid in the climb and sprint sections.
I could make the Wednesday ride sticky draft off. Or have an additional ride on a Thursday which would normally be the chaingang night
I suggest additional Thursday ride. Means folks can still get their steady rides in.

Was going to ask if the sticky was indeed off. Hard chase to catch on during first lap before the ramps - a few matches burnt. Half expected G to come through and drive on the increase the gap on the 2nd. Felt a bit more like racing.
I was blowing big time. 10 mins at 320+ watts to catch you. Needed a wee rest and inevitable we’d be caught once Jan put his foot down....

ooft! That was good tonight but my perfectly sculpted legs felt it. Maybe an idea to repeat tonight occasionally and leave the sticky draft off? A good workout instead of a steady trundle.

Do you know which connections are on your phone and back of TV? If your kit is new enough to have lightning on iPhone and hdmi on TV then a lightning/hdmi cable would be cheapest option although the Apple ones can still be £50.
Streaming device would be more expensive but more versatile but again may only be able to plug into hdmi.
I’m going to buy a big TV & put in garage with my turbo. Budget about £300. I can either buy a 32 inch that is smart or a larger one that is non smart.
its a new TV so will have up to date HDMI etc. My phone & iPad are 6 months old so have up to date ports too.
think non smart TV & lightning cable or cheaper copy is way to go as don’t intend watching Netflix when blowing out my bum

My old eyes struggle to see Zwift on-screen data on my iPad.
was talking to a young person today (mid thirties) who tells me I don’t need a smart television as I can use a cable to plug into a dumb tv from iPad or iPhone.
is this the case? If so, what is this cable he speaks of and can I buy it in Tandy?

@P McDonald Found some attire for the occasion when lockdown is lifted and we attack Arran. I'm opting for the yellow (copper) one. Shame there's no skinsuit... reckon the yellow one would go with our blue bibshorts...?

Do they do a Babycham one?

When i tried to send a message on the companion app it was saying server error so i think they were having problems - probably due to how busy it is.
I think they've changed the algorithm slightly for the sticky draft - it used to be the case that those in front of the beacon were those working 'hardest' (what power they were doing in terms of what zone they are in rather than outright power) but it doesn't seem to be the case now.
I still can’t figure it out. On Monday I rode up the hill with Darryl & billy, ahead of the beacon and was working quite hard. Tonight I was trundling ahead of but working hard behind the beacon.

Was Zwift playing up for anyone else tonight?
I rode away from beacon at start despite only putting 130 watts out. Sat up after a bit until people caught up and actually found it harder behind the beacon but then I’d drift ahead again. On a couple of occasions I got dropped then had to hammer it to get back on before required power dropped again.
zwift companion also wouldn’t let me see the map, dashboard or send messages. Decided to bin it in the end. Does Zwift maybe struggle when it’s busy?

How the excuses have evolved. I would have won but:
- my forks snapped and I had to find a blacksmiths to fix em
- my derailleur jammed
- my chain snapped
- I punctured
- my heart rate monitor said I was on my max
- my power meter said I couldn’t attack
- my internet connection failed
😄😀
I had to get off at corner 13 for a jobby

Question for Mr McTavish. I like the chat during our rides but keep seeing comments from non members popping up. “Hi from Utah” and “let’s feel the hot sauce” sort of random bantz.
is there any way of hiding this?

Dear Uncle Iain
I have done a few Zwift races. I tend to slither very quickly to the last third and find a slightly stronger rider to drag me to the final couple of k. I then reward them by going through very hard and trying to drop them before the finish. I usually gain a place, say from 40 to 39th. Am I flicking them or is appropriate virtual RR behaviour? It's certainly fun🤪
Isn’t this the essence of cycling? Why else do we ride?

Tubeless tires are shredding on my summer bike so I had to put trainer tire on my winter bike then had to change pm cranks which are on my TT bike and I started all this when I got back from work at 1730 so you can imagine how all THAT went....
Going for a (distanced) run instead...
I doubt you’ll find your trainers....

Good ride tonight.
Struggled with the heat - have an industrial floor fan so cant really have much more airflow so will need to do think about getting an ice vest or something!
Cheers, Ian. I was driving down braes this afternoon as you were riding up. Passed you as the gentleman in the white car overtook you with inches to spare. I gave him a critique of his driving skills and signed my approval out the window.
Anyone for a game of bike tig?
