Alan McB and I are meeting at Thomsons old cycle shop 9am tomorrow. Weather forecast repeats today. I suggested going to Strathaven and following the EK Saturday chain gang route through Muirkirk. Alan wants to do the Crow Rd from the Lennoxtown end and on to Helensburgh. Really appreciate someone coming along with an imaginative route
I guess you guys are racing on Sunday. Katie wants to do 2 hours zone 3 so I thought I'd go down to the Renfrew Bunch at 10am with her. I love Loch Thom too but we would just spoil your ride.
Only 5 weeks away from racing... Be great Iain if you could get more of the guys out. No one is going to be that fit in March. I'm on holiday in Alicante. I'll be cycling without mudguards for sure.
40 miles reliability - great opportunity to ride a couple of hours at tempo. Anyone up for a 20mph ride? JWCC Race team?
Plan to pop down with Keith Laird... and if you let us go ahead on our own we will eat all the buns.
Unusual rules would be good. Jens Voigt says hardest ever session is 2 x 4 x 20s sprints. Where could we find 8 x 30mph sign posts to sprint to? Anyhow, usual rules good too.
Never occurred to me the JWCC would be out last Thursday. Hope to join you next week. I'll show Alan how to climb the Clune and he can show me how to out-sprint the two McDonald's. And Colin McPhee can show us both how he goes so fast on 125 watts. Must be a faulty power meter / electric bike / superb supplesse.
Take Gateside Rd at Barrhead then Fereneze Rd over the Gleniffer Braes. Great undulations (but mainly up I guess). Could take the short cut at Largs and see Loch Thom too. Probably won't be out btw. Heavy Saturday night at the Uplawmoor Hotel. Free wine. Still tickets available.
