  1. True...lack of Facebook responses! Trying to work out if you, me, Geo and Paul will fit in the van with bikes What's Porto doing again?
  2. Taking your bike to Flanders??
  3. I 'might'** start in the new year. **probably not
  4. Nice we'll see you for transportation of CO2 The others are staying in Kruishoutem, not far from Oudenaarde and I'm staying on my own a few miles away in Waregem. Yes...booked onto the transport to Bruges in the morning. Well, maybe not me because I think I might aim for the middle route.
  5. Well, I actually made it out! Only myself and Alan and my lack of miles really showed! As much as I've been doing Sufferfest recently, you can't beat proper road miles. A recovery ride for Alan was still enough for me and I bailed up past the cemetery to join the Clune. Actually ended up on some really steep roads! 50 miles for me..the most since Liege...but I felt it near the end and could barely muster a 15mph average. Sorry to bail Alan..hope you enjoyed your coffee.
  6. I hope to be there. Might not be able to manage longer or faster but I'll see how it goes.
  7. I was so close! Laid my kit out...but then looked at the dark and wet and went back to bed. Par for the course really. Have a good one.
  8. The regular thread is still in General. John accidentally created this is 2013!
  9. It appears it's ok to ride best bikes but my favoured Campag wheels...while suitable for my weight..have a spoke count of 16 front and 21 rear. An option is to buy lesser Campag wheels...about a massive 200g heavier!!!....that have a regular spoke count.
  10. What about wheels? Did everyone just ride their regular good wheels?
  11. Great stuff Greg. Think I'll go proper Flandrian and not wear any gloves
  12. Ah yes Geo. I remember the Leg End that is Flanders Tom! How could I forget!!
  13. Don't know if you're taking the wee or know NOTHING about cycling!! But....De Ronde, not the French version La Ronde that Charlie mentions is the short version of Ronde Van Vlaanderen or Tour of Flanders in English
  14. Cheers. I'd read elsewhere about folk recommending Vittoria Pave tyres in 25mm so good to hear it from folk I know.
  15. Cheers Kenny. Tyres..can I check you mean no more than 100PSI? That's lower than I ride here without cobbles to go over?
  16. Hi folks, As a few of us are doing/hoping to do De Ronde next year, can you add some helpful hints and tips to this page please? Registration opens on Nov 1st ...did you manage to register as a group? Couldn't see anything online but it's the same folk that do LBL. Cheers
  17. I have indeed for some strange reason saying as I've hardly turned a pedal since Liege!! Missed the last room at the hotel by a few hours so staying in Waregem which is 4 miles from the others.
  18. Hope to be there unless the wife has a bad night with the wee man. Haven't turned a pedal in 5 weeks so I'll meet at Johnstone and come back as far as Stewarton and take it from there.
  19. I've read the article and I'm definitely not going. Looking at Plan Bs
  20. If I was going I'd be flying out early Fri then back on Sun.
