  1. Martin, Will hopefully be down and in better fettle than Tuesday night. No TT bike though..... Will stick to the road bike. Colin BTW Amy wants to ditch horseriding on Saturday and come along to the Jets
  2. Will be able to assist as well. Can't face the thought of hammering myself for 25 miles so would rather watch others Cheers Colin
  3. Stevie, I will be down tonight but would like to ride as I have been off the bike for the last couple of weeks. To qualify for the championships I need to do the next 2 races as well. See you there. Colin
  4. Looks like you guys had a good night for the return of the 10´s. I would have to be stuck here in Portugal while you lot are getting PBs Can feel the form draining from my legs with every minute spent basking by the pool Colin
  5. Wifes Birthday today so no chance of getting out to play Off to Portugal on Sunday morning so won't be about for a couple of weeks. Colin.
  6. "Thought about keeping it less hilly for a change" Now that is tempting Will need to play it by ear but may well join you all if you are passing the end of my road. Colin

  11. Hi Stevie, Last week was a bit of a non event . Besides being really windy only 3 of us turned out (me, Mike and Ramsay). Jim, who was to be timekeeper turned up a bit late and after Mike had already set off (by this point we had decided against 25 and opted for self timed 10's instead). I turned in a 25.18 which considering lack of motivation, APR the night before and heavy going on the outward leg I was quite happy with. I will let the others fill you in with their times incase I accidentally insult either of them I take it you mean the APR tomorrow night? If so then I hope to be there (there has been no confirmation as yet whether its today or tomorrow) Colin
  12. Anybody else thinking of entering the Glasgow Grand Prix Criterium? Colin
  13. Oh go on then, count me in I'll just take my chances at Millport. As Jim Daly said on Thursday night "just keep the water on your left and go as hard as possible" Will we be meeting at 10 or 10.30 as I will ride to Gourock from the house Colin
  14. I should be there tonight as long as work doesn't get in the way again Colin
  15. In anticipation of the Cumbrae 10 TT on the 22nd I will be riding down to Largs and getting the ferry for a lap around the island to check out surface etc (last time I rode a bike around Millport I would have been about 12 stone which some will be surprised to know was a long while ago ) Will probably come back via Brisbane Glen and the Whin. If anybody fancies it I will be at the clubrooms for 0930 (Lesley please note I' am not looking to highjack your new leadership role mainly because you have been doing such a good job 0 Colin
  16. Fantastic rides by all in terrible conditions (well apart from the lack of wind.....) I know cause when I drove out to get Frank I could hardly see and that was with windscreen wipers Just to get on my soapbox a bit, last night definetly backed up something that Sean said at the time trial forum we had a while ago - a rear light is a good idea. Iain was hardly visible at all in Black ( just as well he was going so fast ) and the others were hardly any better due to the levels of spray. Based on what Sean said I have taken to riding with a small flashing red LED on my seatpost when time trialling even in good conditions and a few have commented that it is really effective. For those thinking of knocking this idea I would argue that the light is so small it won't affect your times and for only a fiver or so it could be a lifesaver I would suggest that this should maybe be a hard and fast rule for TT'ing especially on the West Ferry where we already have enough safety concerns to start from the opposite end. I will now dismount the box By the way Jim I have calibrated the watch (well checked it against teletext m ) and the times are good. Sorry Stevie I know you were fishing for a few more seconds to get a PB Colin.
  17. If you are making your way along the Georgetown to get to the Erskine Bridge then I may well tag along All depends on the state of my legs after tonights TT By the way if there are any plans to go over the new Glen Fruin road I would advise that it is closed for resurfacing at the moment. Colin
  18. Good night last night on what was an excellent circuit. Pity that Mr Mac put me in the scratch group and I got dropped on the hills Can't make it on a Wednesday if I' am doing the 25's but should be fine after that. Colin.
  19. This would suit me better as I don't think I will make it to Uplawmoor in time after work. Colin
  20. Vicky, Probably best if I drop it in to "John's" so you can pick it up anytime. I will drop it off sometime this afternoon. At least something bike related of mine will get away this year Have a good trip. Colin
  21. Vicky, I have a DHB bike box and wheel bags if thats of any use. Fits road bike easily. Colin

    Road Repairs

Kenny, I didn't clock from when the road would be closed (must have been going too fast ) but I would imagine it will be soon. The sign was on the Houston side of where I live just at Moss road so it may be closed from there which would rule out the 5 mile option Just hope I will be able to get home of an evening Colin

Noticed on my way back home last night after some hilly miles that the section of Georgetown road from the Inchinnan end to around my house is to be closed for 4 weeks. Is it the case that we will finally get a good surface under the railway bridge? Bumped into Duncan on his daily commute back from work (at the top of the Whin ) and we were discussing Renfrewshire Roads pledge to fill all the potholes in the area. Has anybody witnessed this yet? I know I haven't . Maybe they will class the holes under the bridge as them all Colin
  24. James, Quote below from Braveheart. Think you may have left this behind last night "ALSO! Someone left a black old school saddle bag at Bishopton hall, probably from the early 1900's. if it belongs to you or a club mate get in touch."
  25. Won't be able to make it this week as TT'ing on Tuesday and Wednesday will mean family duties for me on Thursday . Could be interested in following weeks though . Colin
