  1. Entered, C's, to give it a try after another pure caning in the B's last night.
  2. 12 out for first bogs of winter. And 5 wheelers, great to see Darryl, Galeb, Jan, Andy out. Steady to Largs, bunch working hard into the wind. Darryl turned off at Inverkip on a sensible staged comeback mission ! At Largs, Galeb discovered saddle was broken so headed up heely. Same after Largs to W Kilbride drag, inevitable habble up the drag. Regroup at top which was almost superfluous as the habble restarted and bodies gradually tailed off from W Kilbride to Beith. I turned off at Beith at the very end of my rope and left 5 guys to continue on the usual route back. Good to see Andy back and strong at start of winter
  3. Galeb, looks like a decent wee bunch tomorrow. I'll be passing Houston O at 0940 sharp to ride into Renfrew just because it's first bogs bunch of winter.
  4. entered, hope to be there but its 50-50 at moment
  5. Bogs bunch leaving Renfrew at 10am. Saturday binned due to really mince weather.

Splendid bunch of 5 today, cruised from Greenock to Ardrossan with a tailwind. The sunshine views across the sea to Rothesay and Arran were outstanding. Doc MacLean left us at Ardrossan to go see the cyclocross at Irvine, was good to see you out Alan

Bunch leaving Red Smiddy at 0930 Saturday if you want to join. Spango, Largs, W Kilbride.
  10. I hope I added the correct Stevie Weir ! Let me know Stevie
  11. Very similar to last week, full house in all groups, Cedric, Sam and Stevie showing very well, Stevie had an unfortunate off, Sam - cannot find you on facebook so if you can find me and message me I will add you to the Saturday bunch group. Stevie - do you want added?
  12. Well 5 of us to Greenock (plus Jim and Linsey along the westferry heading to Oban overnight). Greg headed back and 4 of us had a smash over Loch Thom, Heely Brae. Or to be more accurate, Galeb smashed 3 of us Happy days
  13. Yip, Amaretto. I would love to introduce y'all to the magnificent roads in the Calpe area. Cycling heaven. And for those that feel inclined, there is always the 6km Col de Rates time trial with the timing hut at bottom and top. TT or not it is one of the best roads in the world.
  14. Galeb, I and possibly some others leaving Red Smiddy at 0930 for Loch Thom - W Kilbride run if you wish to join I will be at Houston 0920 Galeb
  15. Could be up for this if earlier part of June
  16. Entered B's. Legs cramping and chest imploding already
  17. 4 in D group (jets), 3 in the C group (Sam, Stevie and Alan), 2 in B (me and Jan) and 1 in A (Cedric). A full house for JWCC Sam and Stevie showing well in C group, as well as Cedric in A's. My season debut was off to a very false sense of security when the first scratch race was pretty benign and felt comfortable in front part of group. However the two races that followed were what I have come to expect in the first outing. I got a pure kicking. Can only hope things improve over a few weeks.
  18. Yip, great run on a fantastic October day. Thanks guys, I was truly at the end of my rope in the last 10k. Saw the Kilkreggan bunch at Houston and they looked very tidy. Cedric had a 'significant' mechanical between Kilbirnie and Lochwinnoch. His fixie chain wrapped round the rear hub shell, jammed his back wheel and he had a long skid, which shredded through his new tyre. Anyway, went back to get him, repaired to mine for toast and scrambled egg before even looking at his bike as we both knackered. Eventually we went out and got him sorted with a tyre to get him home but he headed back on train to Glasgow Central as the chain looked like it could fail after its exertions. He made it ok. Loch Thom was pretty special in the Autumn light but not a patch on the utterly stunning view of Arran from West Kilbride with its sunny peaks and shadowy glens. The winter timetable starts in 2 weeks so it game on for the WSA. Just saying like.
  19. Fantastic, congrats Cedric, Jamie and Keir
  20. Galeb, there has been some lobbying in the background. Compromise position is 9.30am at Red Smiddy roundabout, I will be at Houston roundabout 9.20am. Iain, proposed route is Spango via Westferry, Loch Thom W Kilbride. A good grind pace. Folks can go as hard as they like on hills. Some folks have very sore legs after 2 hrs track today except Cedric who is on the Michelin man version of Duracell, he did national hill climb in rain this morning then wiped the floor at the track.
  21. Calling trackie types out there. Weather looks frightfully grim on Saturday, anyone up for a 1 or 2 hour track session at the accredited drop ins on Saturday afternoon. Still plenty slots at the 2pm and 3pm sessions.
  22. I've registered Paul. Then realised it is Easter weekend which might complicate things. We'll see....
