2023 Subscriptions P McDonald Posted March 4, 2015 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted March 4, 2015 With the endless wet runs round the coast and another predicted for Saturday is there interest in an alternative this week to take advantage of the MILD and DRY weather ! Looking wet in our neck of woods but dry south of Ayr. So suggestion to do the Ayrshire Alps run on Saturday from 9am at usual spot south of Ayr. About 65 miles. 7 significant climbs. Its the Don Smith on Sunday which will likely be fast, so steady between climbs. Those that want can go harder on climbs. alexb
Where is usual place? I'm up for it football timings permitting. Will have room for one other and bike in car if I can make it.
Colin McPhee
Good idea as alternative but think I might save the legs for Sunday
Ian Porteous
Would love to do it but took some serious punishment today and need to see how my legs respond - climbs are no longer my friend (unless they're within the first 60km)
2023 Subscriptions P McDonald Posted March 4, 2015 Author 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted March 4, 2015 Alex, the usual depart point is just south of Minishant, about 45 mins drive from Johnstone.

Ian Porteous
Alan with his new found climbing legs! Don't know if I want to be in amongst all the big boys at the moment! And the forecast I saw wasn't quite so optimistic as Paul's! But I love punishment!
2023 Subscriptions P McDonald Posted March 4, 2015 Author 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted March 4, 2015 Hmmm, weather forecast for Minishant has changed, a lot, since 7am today. So we'll see. On the bright side Sunday which was to be wet wet wet is now set fair. Every cloud, silver lining.
