DavieB Posted January 11, 2013 Report Share Posted January 11, 2013 Enjoy Phil, Port de Bales is an absolute cracker went up it the year after the tour visited so had pristine tarmac, the views and atmosphere (cowbells ringing and birds of prey circling) are absolutely stunning and beat the Tourmalet for me. I know the dates don't suit some but we should really try and get a club outing to the high mountains of the Tour or Giro some time.....iconic places.
