Richie Cross
Looks good...and dear! Not an expert but my £20 one from Tesco works fine. I've been told that it's just a simple signal so should be pretty accurate regardless of cost??
2023 Subscriptions ginty001 Posted February 7, 2012 Author 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted February 7, 2012 mm, interesting Ritchie, does it do cadence also ?

Guest EPCC
Ian I use cat eye triple wireless for speed HR and cadence plus other things it costs 110 before you spend are you using it for training gauging constant effort or what to sum up you will have to decide what you need it for
2024 Subscriptions Darryl Gunson Posted February 7, 2012 2024 Subscriptions Report Share Posted February 7, 2012 Hi Ian That looks fine. There is one for sale with extras on Braveheart for £50. Imo you don't need all the fancy stuff. I ordered one of these last night: http://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/sp/road-t ... 0000000000 Cheers

Tesco cheapie Cheers for posting this. I've been looking for a cheap HRM and only going to use when I'm on the turbo so I don't need any fancy stuff. Iain Cowden
Hi Ian The Polar package you identify is the one I went for a few months back - so far so good. I needed a cadence counter as well. I got mine from Dolphin Fitness, I think for £86.99 P & P included. Delivery was prompt and painless (unlike the turbo sessions that followed!). To note the cadence sensor attaches to the downtube, sticking out at about 45%, rather than to the chainstay. As you say, the range and costs are remarkable. Happy hunting! 2023 Subscriptions Ramsay Posted February 7, 2012 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted February 7, 2012 My fancy Polar is essentially useless as neither my home and work computer can load the software, so I can't reset it or even change the time etc! So I bought one of the Tescos one about a year ago and it works fine.
2023 Subscriptions David Thomson Posted February 7, 2012 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted February 7, 2012 Cheers Ramsay. It's definitely cheap enough for a gamble on it. David
Kay10ant
i have a basic polar one which tells me my average heart rate, highest heart rate, stop watch and most importantly how mant calories burnt so I know how much chocolate to eat after exercise. Alan Fox
I have been using the CS100 (same without cadence) for years with no problems. Reliable piece of kit. Only downside is no backlight for early morning/night rides. Cheers Alan
