2024 Subscriptions Darryl Gunson Posted November 9, 2008 2024 Subscriptions Report Share Posted November 9, 2008 Hi Greg your bike may be included in the household contents insurance. Or you may have to include it as a named item - depends on your policy. Most policies will also allow claims for accidental damage as well. So, check your household insurance first. Lesley Scally
Hello, Same comments as Darryl, check your house insurance. My experiece is many companies policies only cover bikes up to the value of around £500 so if your bike is more than this (which for most of us it is) you usually have to specify it as a separate item. I've found Esure to be the most reasonable price wise and generally their service is good. Donald and I have both our bikes and carbon wheels specified and covered on our Esure home insurance for theft and accidental damage. Well worth it as I recently had to make a claim after damaging carbon zipp wheels on the Dunoon pier and just got a brand new replacement pair. Cheers, Lesley
