Committee Alan McLean Posted February 18, 2008 Committee Report Share Posted February 18, 2008 The "race" group had the stuffing knocked out of us by the domino crash on Houston roundabout. Bit more thoughtful after, never quite got back up to speed. Top marks to Darryl and Frank who rode off the front from Langbank and showed us how it should be done. I'm working next weekend so I'll see some of you at Gifford if the weather's ok then.
Committee Alan McLean Posted February 19, 2008 Committee Report Share Posted February 19, 2008 http://trail.motionbased.com/trail/activity/5004823 First 10km is downhill from Kilmacolm. 18km. tried to take Houston roundabout at 35kph. Failed. KO'd computer and didn't reset until helensburgh, 35km. Lost about 10k because GPS assumed we helicoptered between Houston and Hburgh. 40km altitude spike is Sinclair St. 72km is Bishopton Hill Teeny spike at 74 is sliproad onto Westferry 76km is east Langbank climb and 79km is monkeyhouse. Really had to streeeeeeeetch that y axis for best effect. A
KennyS
Impressive toy you've got there, Alan Only problem with it though is that is has clearly shown the shameless shortcut taken by the Fast Group from the McDonald's roundabout in Balloch south rather than taking the roundabout further east which comes down the Stirling Road as per the Official route. Was Chung with you?
2024 Subscriptions Darryl Gunson Posted February 20, 2008 2024 Subscriptions Report Share Posted February 20, 2008 All my fault Kenny. I even insisted that we take the dual-carriageway to the main Balloch roundabout, but everyone else took a shortcut at Cameron House DG
Committee Alan McLean Posted February 20, 2008 Committee Report Share Posted February 20, 2008 Blimey Kenny, I didn't expect anyone to actually study our route. You need to get out more Darryl at least followed most of the course with extra climbing up to the roundabout. We found the very nice, quiet piece of the old road, new to me, which took us into Balloch from Duck Bay. After that we were just "temporarily unsure of our position".
