  9. Hi guys, was in W H Smith Paisley, during the week and happened to notice an older than me type chap....purchasing a copy of cycle weekly, At the till, he dropped some change which i helped to pick up and then asked him if he was still cycling....He introduced himself as Mr J Brunetti, aged 93 years young and a member of the Joansin Wheelers... date joined , 1935. He is no longer cycling due to lack of balance and great fear of fast cars, etc., but askled me to pass on his best wishes for the continued success of the club.

  12. Yo all, what a great site... thought my compooter had been hacked and upgraded. Still around and getting limited mileage in but not what it should be Shoulder great , no op required.. hope to be out soon again with 'bunch' but early sundays dont appeal the same at this time of year...May post for a beginners /returnees type run from clubrooms 10.00 hrs ....some day soon. Seasons greetings to all.. Ian. ps ,,Presume wellies, sorry mean muddies are the order of the day now ?
  13. great to see the return of....BUT... away this weekend, double gig Callander. Due to see surgeon tues 15th..so shouldn't be too long before shoulder allows returning.... what bike is one to mount in this late summer weather ??? Cheers to all, Ian.
  14. Brill, has the gear arrived Kenny, when are you likely to be making it available ?.,.... Hope you are well, not seen you in ages.....presume you are puting a slightly larger front sprocket on the time trial machine i saw in BBJ !!. OR is this the new secret weapon for the winter climbs
  15. YO, long time no speak,,, would love to be there BUT setting up for evening gig , had three outings this week ,each twenty five plus... so still keeping the legs going. Shoulder not great and recent scan has'nt shown much for surgeon to go on... will have to wait and see... wumin in charge of scanning thingy..... thought he may suggest further courses of steriod /cortisone etc jags ...twelve years since last lot !!! didny work then!!!! ... So. lads have a good one , Kenny tell old Bill I was asking for him, and perhaps get out with you guys soon..
  16. what an opporchancity to miss....Kenny would love to be there but my right shoulder is really playing havoc at the mo.. ortho surgeon next week should let me know if drumming as well as cycling is to be put on hold....hope not... have been managing a couple of twenties per week to keep legs going but nothing like as good as the group banter just not the same talking to your front tyre ....regards to all hope you have a good one.... will perhaps resurrect a thirty or returnee/ beginners bunch when fit and able to ..... Cheers Ian.
  17. Yo kenny, a pair of arm warmers s/m unless you think i require m/l. cheers ... ian
  18. A crackin wee run at a fairly ???? steady 18+ up to 23 mph on road oot, !!!! perhaps we can blame abscondees from the fast bunch who decided to join my 'cafe stop hunt'. The fairly strong breeze may have played a small part in assisting us...Chung and Martin were our very welcome guests , although chung did point oot that i was riding the front with him and appeared to be setting the pace.?? As time was a priority they wanted an early return to miller st. Newboy Alan Dickson eventually gave in and joined us this morning after two years persuasion that the 'lads' dont go that fast and the pace was always steady and the weather was guaranteed to be brill on all runs with each return route always down hill He'll never trust me again From Miller st to houston, georgetown rd to red smiddy, erskine, passed Compaq, to Bishy, turn right and up hill to Ingliston to road end and left turn,,swithered at west glen road whether we would add the extra bit via Kilmalcolm, but just in time the rain came on with some severity......well, enough to help us decide to head straight to houston, bridge of weir then home.... Martin had promised to show Chung the monkey house on road past,,, but we were either far too fast and didn't see the road end or we were on the wrong part of the langbank road but i have to report it appears to be missing. A great outing with plenty of the usual great banter in sun, rain, hail and more sun.... cheers all ian.
  19. who's up for a steady easyish thirty, poss back roads from...... houston, erskine, bishy ,kilmacolm, brg o weir.with option of extensions..... the' Bill T' trail.... Leaving club rooms 09.15 sharp weather permitting... cheers ian.

Gonna try and find the recipe of his sandwich filler bl??dy rocket fuel ??? Cheers guys....Ian ps . colin yer pics are superb, aint it clever how my sloping cross bar accomodates my belly
