2023 Subscriptions P McDonald Posted May 6, 2007 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted May 6, 2007 Ladies and Gents This is my my annual plea for assistance in promoting the Wheelers race at Barmill on Saturday 9th June. Its painless, honest - all you need to do is commit to be available at Barmill from 11.45am to 2.30pm on Saturday 9th June. If anyone fancies a go at driving lead car for example then I'm sure it could be arranged. This race has been a succesful event with about 45 riders the past few years and the weather is usually about 80 degrees so pack the sun cream !! Please let me know on this post or by whatever means you wish if you can help. 01505 843836 07939 733 146 [email protected] carrier pigeon smoke signals etc PMcD
Guest Jim Daly
Paul I'll help with marshalling, assuming I don't get sent abroad again. Please can I be first on the list for racing, if you get sufficient volunteers? Cheers Jim

2023 Subscriptions P McDonald Posted May 19, 2007 Author 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted May 19, 2007 Update on race marshalling I have 3 commits to help, Jim, Darryl and Alan from Fife. So I have 4 including myself. I need a minimum of 5, 4 on the corners and 1 in the car. I have an offer of help from a friend in Rockhard Mountain Bike Club. Before taking up this offer I thought I would post again as we should really be able to muster enough bodies from our own club. There are some club members keen to take part in the race so lets see if we can get another couple of names. thanks again PMcD

man5e
Paul, I would doubtless have turned up anyway. Hopefully to top up the tan like last year. Just so long as Lesley Scally does not have any other new bikes to show off. Quite miffed me last year that Orbea!! I will be available to help. Lesley Scally
No new bikes for me this year Ian. Seems like my Orbea had the same affect on someone else (in my household) who had to go out and buy a new Look!! Paul, if you need any help on the baking front, let me know. Regards, Lesley
2023 Subscriptions P McDonald Posted June 6, 2007 Author 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted June 6, 2007 As Jimmy Saville would say "Ohhh OOhhh a thousand thanks to all the helpers" Can I ask those who can help to be at the Barrmill hall for 11.30am. Tis much appreciated. Lesley, your kind offer of home baking would be great if you can manage it. There should be a spare marshall for the corners so I suggest that since the weather is nice you could set up a rota of riding round and relieving the next person so you can all get a bit of a ride now and then. Thanks and see you Saturday - I've started getting all the usual phone calls about entries etc so should be plenty riders !! PMcD
2023 Subscriptions P McDonald Posted June 10, 2007 Author 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted June 10, 2007 Just to repeat my thanks to those who helped out - I really appreciated being able to take part this year, in particular Darryl McGunson Ian Mantan Mike Ferguson John Anderson Alan from Fife who got delayed in traffic Douglas - Euan Popestars brother for driving and as always - Tam O Ranter for driving and numerous other tasks. and the other floating marshalls Stevie B, Sarah, etc etc 2 other wheelers also took part in the race , Marco van W and Jim Daly, which is a credit to all those listed above. Members Kenny MacDonald
A big vote of thanks to Paul and helpers for putting on a splendid event. The riders I spoke to at Millport were very complimentary about the clubs event. Without willing helpers it wouldnt be possible, well done one and all.
