  20. Received from Scottish Cycling for consideration atthemeeting on Monday Dear Club Secretary, With the “Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome†opening in October it is a really exciting time for cycling in Scotland. This presents the perfect opportunity to instigate a National Track League, allowing riders from across the country to compete in a Track League as well as offering a development goal for new and novice riders. Scottish Cycling has agreed in principle with Glasgow Life (the operators of the facility) that we will establish a Wednesday night Track League with the aim of developing other leagues throughout the schedule. Scottish Cycling has proposed that the next phase will be an additional evening subject to track time availability. As the national governing body for cycling in Scotland, Scottish Cycling would like to ensure consistency of the administration and organisation of this National Track League with the following aims: • Provide administrative and organisational support with a dedicated staff resource to ensure continuity • Provide a high quality weekly track racing experience that links to the development pathway for all riders in all categories • Support officials and volunteers to deliver the events, providing appropriate training opportunities for them to develop • Coordinate the linking of the Track League to national development pathways • Provide a development aim/goal for all track riders in all classifications • Encourage national participation in the League • Acquire sponsors for the League • Produce world class riders • Give ownership of the event to the participants and volunteers where their input and feedback is used to develop the league positively I would appreciate it if you could collate any feedback from your club members, on the attached document, and return to [email protected] by the 07th September 2012. Scottish Cycling has also circulated the National Track League Proposal, attached to this email, directly to your centre secretary. Reponses will be reviewed by the Track Working Group. If your club is interested in booking track time, you can visit Glasgow Life’s website and complete their booking form using the following link: PLEASE CLICK HERE Look forward to hearing your thoughts Craig Craig Burn Chief Executive

  22. As Iain has mentioned just to pass on my own thanks to the club members who helped today with marshalling and other duties. Much appreciated
  23. Yeah I met him last week and he said he would help plus I mentioned to Iain we might need some additional supporters and to put out the word. I sent you a PM re-event entries - not hugely urgent. I will just act daft (the usual)
