Well done iain lot of guys in the same boat with regards to times. I went a run round it with my dad last week and was 3 minutes slower wind was horrible that day. Sorry i didnt get the chance to meet you properly should have told you about the wind when you said hello but didnt think. Great day out nice having club kit on felt a bit left out being in sky gear at rothesay last year

Got down for this and did it in 30.36 bit dissapointed at not breaking the 30 minute barrier but it was very windy on the back 5. Spied a wheeler who im assuming was ian couttie as thats the only other person whos name was down. Have never met ian before but he said hello as i had my club top on, would be nice to hear how he got on. 2nd time trial ever out the road, first club run tomorrow and hopefully get in about the ten mile confined tts :-)

Cheers Alex, I've not really got my climbing legs at the moment as I'm practising for time trials. I'll try out the route a couple of times over the next few weeks then come see how long I can hold on for. Knowing what's coming with hills would make it a lot less daunting. Was always out on a Tuesday last year so getting out to do this on a tuesday amongst the confined events should bring me on a bit No doubt pass a few of you heading down the cycle track to get there tonight, nice easy zone 3 for me tonight but you guys enjoy I'm told the roads are dryish -

Guys, wouldn't be out this week certainly but would you be willing to take a newcomer at some point in the next few weeks or is this a bit brutal for me? I'm trying to get out with the 30 milers but doing this and the confined events on a tuesday night would be ideal for me as tuesday is one of the rare nights the mrs doesn't work. I've done 30 milers a good few times but only around 1500ft of climbing. I've taken the route off the strava link to try it myself, if anybody has one that starts and finishes in Johnstone I'd appreciate a link to it. Don't mind if I get dropped would be nice if there's another fat smoker like myself to baby me through but quite happy even if I only make 10 or 20 miles clinging on as I'll get fitter doing it -
Start list is out for this is it only 2 of us doing this one?

Ive got wet roads in beith so il miss this 1
-
If theres a dry road outside my house when i wake up i was intending on coming but wouldnt want to come away down if nobody else is out
-
Thanks, il see if i can figure out how to get there or il maybe just bundle the bike in the car. Unless it rains il be out no mudguards

Is there a run planned this sunday? Looking to get my 1st group ride done, fine with the mileage and pace not sure if id fancy a stop but probably would to be sociable. Im coming from beith, do you generaly head up the cycle path from johnstone? Im just asking in case its possible to meet on the cycle track if i need to. Im going to practice the tt course in falkirk on saturday so might appreciate more sleep and doing ten miles less on the sunday. Of course wil go with the majority if required long as its not raining il make it. Thanks

Id like to do this if the weather is ok -
I need to find 50 before the falkirk tt or even the 30.26 i did in rothesays going to look fast! Il be spending a lot of time going up the hill at kilbirnie police station thatl bring it back or break me and make me cry
-
Passed by you all today second lot stuck with a puncture. Hope you havent all spoiled my watching of strava segments for the rest of the day! Will get out with the bunch when i get my fitness back to speed and less icy in the morning, cant go on my 1st club run when im only putting out 150 strava watts
-
Should be good for falkirk for me then but cant enter til end of feb so hopefully be places still left by then. I did rothesay tt in 30:26 last year so should be easy enough to better that by a minute or 2 with tt bars my own bike and not smoking a 20 pack with nerves beforehand.
-
Id like to do the falkirk one as thats my dads club but guessing i'd need a licence for that?
-
Just like to take the opportunity to thank everybody there tonight for such a warm welcome. I'll see you all when i eventualy get out on a club run, tonight has shown me ive a way to go but im looking forward to it and learned a lot even just from 1 night. My 9/10 was a bit closer to everybody elses 5/10 so should see some improvement
-
Ok put down 1 newbie in sky gear then if its running. If im struggling il just drop the pace and watch everybody else suffer
-
I'd like to come if possible I have my own turbo i just dont have a mat would i be allowed to stick a big towel under it? Im probably quite unfit atm but il try whatever you guys are until i feel sick lol
-
Thanks george, the mrs works til 8ish wednesday so no luck for me although im sure she said shed took next wednesday off so could be an opportunity to come say hello
-
Thanks jane. How much are they usually? I'll likely have to purchase that february or march when funds allow. Thats me now paid up on the website. Just one last question if somebody could oblige, do you hold any kind of turbo or indoor club nights through the winter? Got to start getting fitness levels back and would be a good way to meet club members. Thanks again for the help everybody

Thats brilliant thanks. I wouldnt make tomorow. During the summer i would go out on a monday/tuesday night then a friday night odd saturday at 7 then sundays at 9. Im off work for 6 months to look after my baby daughter and just have to work around that and my girlfriends job. I'll get on and get paid up. Too scared to take my canondale out in the wind and rain as ive only had it 3 month but i might go get my old raleigh i started on so i can get out havent even been on my turbo for 2 weeks. Il keep an eye out and see what is going on with the club and try and get a long and meet some of you all
