  1. That was quite something. It would be nice to do it every week, but I cannot.
  2. Couttie said that was his favourite tenner, ever.
  3. I will still ride if it is on, but I can take it or leave it.
  4. Still planning on riding, who else?

    Commuting

I got a bike just for commuting on last year and I had a few must haves: Disk brakes save wear and tear on over rim brakes and are more tolerant of bashed wheels. Robust tyres with a reflective band, currently using 32s, not yet felt the need for slime filled tubes or additional protective inserts. The solid tyres have caught my eye too, maybe one day. Cheap groupset as I do not want to be too precious about wear and tear, Claris does all I need. 50/34 and a 12-25 is ideal for me. Fit mudguards year round. A nice colour, for admiring - very important.
  6. I will give it a bash, hopefully I can keep up for long enough.
  7. Planning on coming down to ride, hopefully do it under 20mins.
  8. Just been out for a tr****ng run along the Georgetown Road and it is much better at Netherfield. You just pick your line without worrying about the road surface. Some idiot has left the headwind switched on though. Have a good run tomorrow evening.
  9. You two were at Langbank when we passed, impressive stuff.
  10. Yes I cheated and took the car down to the ferry, and I feel no shame and I am proud of myself! A great spring day for what is one of the best routes about, a lot of hard climbing throughout but the scenery is amazing. Just reminds you of why cycling is so good. A fast finish with a tailwind down from the dam to the ferry.
  11. Good on you for seeing it out.
  12. My initial plan was to drive down to the ferry and not miss out on sleep. Consequently I am drinking bison vodka martinis (plenty of fresh lime, almost a health drink). If I wake sharp and leave in time I may be there, but it will no later than nine.
  13. Lovely day for it, still a tough run. Well done on everyone’s times and thanks to Darryl for refocusing my efforts enroute. The Hilly TT is mine this year if everyone has their holiday booked over 25 August!
  14. I will head up Netherton road and hopefully meet you somewhere. It is not too far.
  15. Got around to entering this one and I can offer a lift down to the Largs for up to three more.
  16. Will that take you past the Monkey House road junction on Barrochan Road? I could easily get there for 0930.
  17. Where does this route take you? I may be able to meet up somewhere and show a new meaning of slow.
  18. It is a yes from me. Would appreciate someone arranging more clement weather.
  19. Thank you to Alan and James for officiating, hardy souls for waiting in the cold today. Nice to get the first T.T. of the season and realise that pain is temporary. Well done to everyone on their times.
