Did a wee recon of the course today. I don't have a chance The A77 section is uphill & if that isn't bad enough the wind will blow it apart. The rest of the course is rolling (mostly rolling uphill) & clunch road is horrid. So there you go. Might just stop in & watch Milan-San Remo.

OK. I'm up for the Alps.

Paul, I've yet to do this ride & would love to but don't think it's the best leg loosener prior to racing on Sunday. Would defo be up for it pre Liege though.

Bit of a trek in midweek for me, Robbie.

Campbell, race 1 at 2:30pm. Race 2 at 4:15pm Both 2 laps of 16 mile circuit.

Could maybe make Saturday for a recon but would have to be very early.

Glad to see my germs have spread. Providing my cold has lifted I'll be riding on Sunday. Had hoped to recon the course but looks unlikely now so will drive on Sunday & do a lap to warm up. Had a look at the route map on today's email from the organiser & it looks different to the normal route up clunch road but I could be wrong.

FAO Charlie, We are chasing Messrs Baird, Leavy & Porteous with 2 mins to make up. Groupings obviously based on IQ rather than ability. You might have to do a spell at the front. I'll explain what that is before the start.

For the first time in 3 years of trying I've got a start in the Fenwick APR! Don't know whether to laugh or cry i'll knuckle down to some training once I finish off this packet of Jaffa cakes. Anyone else in?

Not so sure about your appraisal of the weather, Billy. I was soaked by the time I got to the clubrooms & the wind & hailstones over the wall made it tough. Loch Thom was bracing too Seemed prudent to curtail the ride as was quite tough with just the four of us & the thought of fairlie moor in that wind, no thanks! Done 3 road rides & 2 turbo this week so kind of my coach to make next week my rest week. Methinks that peeps thought today was the club run so that's maybe why no-one posted.

Yes. mortifying fall in pub car park. Not the first time this has happened but first time on a bike & sober. Good wee leg stretcher & only £1.25 for a coffee in the Pullman. The first 3 cafes we went to were rammed with non cyclists. How odd!
