  1. Ladies and gents, we need to have a couple of volunteers to organise the Don Smith and the Sam Dooley events takng place in March and August this year. I believe that we have names in the frame for the road races, but we do need people for these events too. Please post up or PM me if you're willing to get involved.
  2. Thoroughly enjoyed that today, burst by the end. The recovery continues.
  3. Once again, I'll start, but probably bail at Stewarton.
  4. Clubhouse, bridge, pipetrack, Loch Katrine, variety of return routes is always good. One for the summer months.
  5. I have attached the schedule of confined events ( and some open ones) for the coming season. Confined event awards are open to all club members, and are an excellent way to introduce new riders to the mysteries and dark arts of Time Trialing. This year, I have introduced 2 new courses for the League of 10. One is the Hilly course, and the other the restricted gear course at Gateside. These will be one of events within the league of 10, which will be mostly on the Westferry, as normal. If you want to give TT-ing a shot, these are the events to try. 2020 Confined Events Calendar.pdf
  6. Yip, good to be out getting the miles in., even if I'm so far off the pace I'm in a different time zone. It'll come back though. Think I managed to last nearly 6 miles.
  7. I'll come and join in at the start, won't expect to be there at the end.
  8. I may come along and hang on until I can't. 9:30 at the clubhouse?

    Sunday 29th Dec.

Not right now I'm not. Making my way back from injury, so if you want to tag along, you can tow me up the hills.
  10. Planning on 30-40 lumpy miles as hard as I can go (which isn't much just now), company welcome. Leaving from Houston roundabout at 10-ish, company welcome. Route is likely to be Langbank, Clune, the wall, and I'll play it by legs after that. No cafe stop planned.
  11. Great run out today. Turned out the BBC lied to us about the weather, as it was dry but cold. Not a huge number of riders out, around 14, which splintered a bit before Bishopton, but the rest of the run was steady and pretty sedate. Refreshments at amaretto's were very welcome.
  12. 😮 Rule 5 of the velominati. https://www.velominati.com/
  13. Forecast is now for heavy rain. Rule 5 applies.
  14. What better way to work off your Christmas excesses by getting out to play on your bike for a couple of hours. 10.00 am at the club rooms for an easy run out via Georgetown, Erskine, Bishopton, Westferry, Whin, Torr Road and finishing at Amaretto's. Bail out option at the Clune. This is a whole club run, so will be at the pace of the slowest rider (probably me!), with refreshments at the sponsors. All welcome. Forecast is for dry. Post up if you're coming along. I intend to be out, but expect to struggle as I've not been out for a couple of months.
  15. Got to say I'm doubtful given my recovery rate so far. Even if I get back on the bike by Christmas, it still gives me only 12 weeks to get fit enough to do the run.
