A very fine day out. As George said, manky start but brightened up after Gourock. George's EPO kicked in a wemyss bay and I was thoroughly shattered before the 40 at Largs where Ross made a brave but doomed long range attempt for the 30. Richard taught him a lesson and everyone was happy come Das Bagelhausen. After showing leg scars to all over a cup of cino we headed back up Brisbane Brae. Properly beautiful. I only had a big ring at the front so major show of solidarity by all as the bunch ascended the brae in the big ring. No jokes here. They've been shared. The one about teeth was particularly yuk! Back up the Westferry and (for me) an exhausted crawl back home. How I've missed the bike these last four weeks!! Andy

It would be great to move forward on this. Sounds like there's lots of interest in getting involved in track league. I'd be keen too but would value the opportunity to get accredited. That way my letter to Santa will have more gravitas

Mark I think this is a good proposal over the next few weeks and there may be a few folk who would appreciate that as a means of transitioning to main bunch. More importantly though it was great to meet new folk and there was a great feel to the day. Well done especially to Mark and Hugh who both shoes us some good climbing on the Haylie Brae and Hugh on working in a brisk and small bunch over to Kilbirnie! I was sorry to miss Grieg and Elaine's catering. The Facebook scones picture looked fab!! Thanks for all the kind words re: the fall (except Billy that is ). A few hours spent the RAH saw my leg cleaned up, disinfected and saved. The most memorable moment was sliding down the track looking up at Ross' upside down face looking at me. Today's main bunch ride was brought to you by Richard and Davie who set a strong pace all the way up to the top of the Bowfield. That set the tone for the day with everyone taking their turn at the front keeping the pace strong. Descent down into Kilwinning was fast and furious and Charlie took the 30 sprint. Route to Largs remained fast with some entertainment from the Fullarton Wheelers, huge bunch, multiple punctures. After missing Paul at Das Bagelhausen we headed into the wind around Gourock and towards the Westferry. Legs were shredded and when Ian Montcoutié said it was like a team time trial he wasn't wrong. I was home for just after 1 and earned brownie points for early return. Perfect day! PS happy birthday to Darryl!!
