  1. Loaded with cold I'm afraid so won't be there. Enjoy!
  2. yep, sorry. No idea where Karen came from! Must have been on tv as I was typing or something. Sorry Jane! Tonight has brought my cold and cough back twice as bad as ever. Many hot drinks, paracetamol and sunny tv shows on couch for me this evening.
  3. I've not done a 10 Alan so have no time and Jesse's surname is Victoria Thanks to Jane, Graham and James for timebkeeping, pushing off and general support! Thanks to Alan for keeping the rain at bay (another 10 minutes next time please!)
  4. Yesterday the forecast was for sunshine on Tuesday. Now its rain! Hardly worth the license fee... Should still be okay though.
  5. Alan - did you get a 52? If not I'll bring one to TT. Loaded with cold so not racing tomorrow afternoon.
  6. I'm still fine to help out as long as riders don't mind me sneezing on them. (Another excuse for Sunday Mr. Leavy!)

    8th is good for me.
  8. Post dinner night in Glasgow... I'll be there with almost as many excuses as Mr Leavy
  9. Cheers guys. I used 50mm rear and trispoke front (all over the place at times, but lots ran full disc set up!) Fair point Billy - would have hoped to be better than mid-table. The first 15 miles were awful and didn't push hard enough through these. Had far too much left at the end. First long TT so all learning. I hardly have time for zwift or training. New job is getting right in the way of this cycling lark...
  10. Where did you see time? John Archibald was 2 seconds behind. I saw him on his out run as I was coming back. Absolutely flying!
  11. Despite Roberto's warning I rode my first proper TT today. For sale: Planet X Exo3... I had watched the BBC "Wheel of Fortune" weather forecast change each hour of Saturday and went to bed happy the strong winds and heavy rain forecasted by the BBC had eventually landed on overcast with a bit of wind, only to wake to heavy rain and strong winds being forecast again. The course is a 15 mile drag down the A71 to Carnwarth with a 15 mile drag back up. I had thought 1:15 was a good target (averaging 24mph). The first 15 miles were torturous with heavy headwinds, showery conditions and far more hills than I can remember (very similar to Roberto's description). Struggled to hold 15 mph at times and my mind just counted down the miles to Carnwarth when surely the tail winds home would be epic! Think I was close to 50 minutes at the turn and reset my target to get under 1:30! What a route of two halves! Holding 30mph for long periods and frequently 40mph + I watched the potential time tumble. With the tail winds and surprisingly fresh legs I spotted, caught and passed a fair few riders before rounding a summit corner for the final sprint to the line stopping my Garmin at a tad over 1:21. Not sure what final time was as results not posted yet. Great spread laid on by West Lothian Clarion, including the fabulous chocolate Guinness cake. A great end to a most enjoyable 80 mins of torture!
  12. Cheers guys. I've chucked both sets in the car to be on safe side.
  13. The forecast for tomorrow's Lang Wang Hilly TT is 12-14mph winds. Any view on the use of a rear disc in those conditions? Doesn't appear to be much in the way of full on side winds. Any suggestions appreciated as I've no idea yet. Cheers
  14. I can help out next week instead if necessary.
  15. Ian, I'm going down Saturday and back up after event on Sunday if you need a lift. Space for bike too.
  16. Stupidly entered a hilly 30 mile TT on 19th so can't make it. Hopefully a lovely sunny day all over.
  17. Happy to help out. I have a 30 mile hilly TT on Sunday so won't be riding.
  18. Its not 100% but far less painful than previously. I didn't take any painkillers before cycling today which has been unheard of for the last 6 months. Gets sire on longer runs though, but so much better than before.
  19. Thanks to Alan T for organising and Ginty and Alan for starting and timekeeping. First time on the TT bike in anger so a lot to learn. Like tighten handlebar bolts... DNF for me. Well done to everyone else. Cracking wee route, and the bit I did I enjoyed. Oh, and thanks to Ginty for the pre-ride entertainment in the form of car in muddy ditch removal challenge!
  20. Map of course and photo of start line in first page of thread.
  21. Tried the TT bike on the road for the first time today. Wobble, wobble, wobble! Fingers crossed I'll get more used to it on the way out tomorrow. You meeting at clubrooms at 0845 Alan?
