  2. Brill weekend boys and girls. Enjoyed the company on and off the saddle. Hats off to Willie for doing the spade work (need to expend grey matter on the next venture, Willie). Paul C takes an accolade for a hat trick of runs over the weekend, including the slightly damp Sunday morning foray around the loch. Was mightly concerned when we were overtaken by motor boat on the A82, really didn't think it was raining that hard!!!! Mr Ian McAuley - LEGEND! To those reading this but weren't there all will become clear. Brian, sterling effort on saturday big man - 70 miles! Good mileage in anyone's book Oh ya dancer! Cheers one and all Mark
  3. On the ground up date +++ Back road between Kilbirnie & Lochwinnoch (Dipple Road beyond Redheugh Estate) being resurfaced - Men in yellow vests spotted this morning as I was leaving for work. Mighbe one to avoid this weekend chaps. Cheers Mark
  4. Guys, can no longer get along for this, work commitments have dashed my hopes of having fun on 2 wheels. Will now be strapped to laptop Mark
  5. I'm up for this. DavieB / Ben I was advised the start is somewhere near or at the Lapwing Lodge on the Glennifer Braes Road. Heading there straight from work (Charing Cross area) about 5.30 - 5.45 ish, room for 1 body and bike in car. Bikes in the boot sorry no rack/carrier. M
  6. Guys and Gal Another fantastic day oot wi' the Jonsin bunch. Excellent route over a lot of new roads for me, first time up the Crow for me. Thoroughly enjoyed myself, esp nicking the 30 before lunch, sorry Al but the Cav in me couldn't resist. Sitting here with a few ales watching the Gooners getting mugged by Bolton, so yes Davie, Sunday's could get marginally better, but only just!!!!! and no worries re lunch. Again smashing day in the saddle Cheers all Mark

    Sunday 17th

Garnocksider splinter groupette clocked aroung 75+ miles by then time we reached home. Smashing run with some good climbs, testing enough to break the butcher boy's chain. Ditto on the legs, mine are pretty tired, more so than last week. Another fine day out! Cheers Mark

    Sunday 17th

Liked Phil's idea of run into Ayrshire. Never heard of Transmitter Hill run, any clues going Daryl? Regardless, weather looks fair for Sunday and 60/70 miles would be good. So I'm in. DavieB if you're going on Sunday ping me a txt we can meet on track at usual place Sunday morning 8.30 ish. Cheers M
  14. Linsday, two blokes in our team last night - team effort the whole way round mon ami. Agreed the wind was not takeing any prisoners, except perhaps the big bloke on the big black bike. Kenny, respect due for your ever changing profile pics, but G Force has got to be top drawer . Defending the Earth against the evil Zoltar and planet Spectra. Only those of a certain age will have race home after school to argue who come out best in a scrap between Mark and Jason. Almost as retro as your jersey last night. M
  15. Thursday evening = client entertainment = no bike run for me M
  16. Guys, June suits me better than July - schools on holiday than and I will be expected to see to family duties/hols. Only date in June already taken is Sat 11th - Arran run with Edinburgh bunch lined up for then. Other than that will go with majority/best weather. Cheers Mark
  17. Yip count me in unless the rain is horizontal. Mark O
  18. Work permitting I'm in. Comrade Davie, most likely I'll be heading for Crosslee straight from bourgeois Glesca by car or bike, method of commute dependant.
  19. Paul, Doesn't sound great regards Bill. Hopefully his overnight is only precautionary and nothing is broken. Post an update if and when you hear anything further. Also, I have a couple of numbers for you, given to me by Ian Anderson and his brother Alistair. Will get themover to you in due course. Cheers Mark
  20. Another splendid day oot in a compact 9.30 Bunch. Ginty, Dave, Ben "What Hills", "New Boy/racing snake" Phil, Alan, John and myself, joined by Alan McLaren, on the Georgetown, and Colin at Bishopton. Run very much as Ian posted above in warm spring sunshine at a reasonable pace topping out at 60 miles. Easy run out before the lumpy bits from Bishopton to Largs and the climb of the day over the Fairlie Moor road. Alan and John left the group at Gleddoch as planned to do their own run. Group split at Largs with Colin and Dave heading off to get a head start on the Col du Fairlie. The remaining riders capitulating to the call of coffee and cake. All came together again on road into Dalry care of a puncture. KOM goes to Ben (handicap suggestion would be for sand to be poured into that man's frame and a large sack of spuds tied to across his handle bars!) with Phil running a close second. At Dalry Colin and Dave opt for a more civilised run back to Johnstone, while the rest of the group rattle back along the track to Lochwinnoch. Phil headed for home here - some small matter of a cycle race to watch and Belgian beer winking at him from the fridge. With a quick pitstop to top up bottles and its a case of dodge the walker and dog as far as Johnstone. Run officially over. Some testing climbs and fast descents into Largs and Dalry all told an excellent spin in great company as always. Cheers Guys Footnote. Feeling relatively fresh and having already considered aiming at getting my first ton of the year under my belt, well it would be rude to waste such a sunny day, I take a circuitous route home via Kilmacolm, the moor road, Howwood, a brief pilgrimage to hallow ground on Miller Street, and a final 10 blustery miles down the track I clock 101.6 miles. Tender backside but happy bunny
  21. Kenny, pencil me in as a distinct possibility. Chalked up a ton today on quite a hilly run and felt quite good by the time I got home , just don't invite Ben he'll murder everyone on the climbs as he did today!! Would be a good target for me to aim at. So yeah I'm interested. Cheers Mark
  22. Ian, You'll hae tae carry that extra weight up the moor road!! M
  23. I'm in, 9.30 it is. Cake stop optional I presume? Mark
