  1. Yet another sunny evening on the Georgetown Rd prompting a good turn out and as promised a PB. Results in running order Martin & Lewis 18:55 John Mc 21:34 Iain C 18:49 Mike F 18:51 Kenny S 21:47 Charlie & Billy 18:45 Mark O & Matt 17:53 Vicky 18:24 Kenny & Iain Mc 18:03 David T 17:46 Greg B 17:39 (PB) Top three club results were. 1st Greg B 2nd David T 3rd Mark O & Matt Other Riders Tommy (young) 19:33 Shug & Iain 15:53 Tam 15:34 Everybody that should have paid, paid, I think...... and Kenny has a bag of cash including anything that happened to be in my pocket! Next week things move to Westferry for the start of the league with Charlie volunteering to do the time keeping. Lost property. Somebody went home with Kenny's Wintex jersey. Apparently it's very exclusive and he has a list of all the owners of the same garment so best give it back before you're spotted.
  2. Looking like another fast night for the last Georgetown TTT before the league. PB's guaranteed. I'll be there to time keep and hopefully the road works will be finished and the route back to normal. If not I guess the start will be near the M8 underpass as it was last week. Post if you're coming along.
  3. These are 50mm deep full carbon tubular rims and come complete with tubs, skewers etc. Just add a Shimano cassette and they are ready to go. Ideal for TT's They're in very good condition having seen very little use and have just sat in a cupboard since I decided clinchers were better suited the type of events I was doing. Would be happy to bring them along to one of the club TT's if anyone wants a look. Asking price £250. Post here if interested.

    Spied a Wheeler

Spied a bunch of wheelers out near Garelochhead on Sunday.... Good to see such a large bunch out this far west at this time of year. My research suggests Flanders is the motivation. Good luck with it, looks like fun. Slightly more bizarrely I also spied an ex wheeler at the end of last year on a business trip to Portland Oregen. I went along for a Saturday club ride with the Portland Velo and was introduced to Paisley ex-pat Brian Cawley with comments of "perhaps you can understand what he's saying, we can't"....... Turns out he was an active wheeler back in the days before the Erskine bridge was built and told stories of when club rides to the north included a trip on the ferry. Not sure if many club members can remember that far back but I'd post that he's fit and well and still riding. Seb
  5. Jan This is quite a common adjustment. There is loads of stuff on the web with pictures etc along the lines of this. http://bicycletutor.com/adjust-threadless-headset/ One reason for the slack could be wear in the bearings so if it feels rough when you try adjusting it would be worth thinking about changing them. They're not that expensive but you need special tools to change them so it's really a job for a shop unless you are really keen. Hope this helps Seb
  6. Planning to drag the old carcass down. Should be a bit warmer than last week. Seb
  7. Happy to act as "training" official for this if required. May well throw my bike in just incase numbers are low. Will be at the Knapps car park as soon as I can after 6. Seb
  8. 61cm Cervelo P2SL frameset (frame ,fork and seatpost) Very lightly used so it's in like new condition. Very light, versitile frame with a facy aero seatpost that allows a wide range of effective seat tube angles. Will suit anyone over about 6' 1" and could be used to build a good TT or short distance Triathlon bike. Only looking for about £350 (which is a bargin) as it's just sitting in a cupboard doing nothing. Seb
  9. Still happy to do this but best put me at the bottom of the list. Due to poor planning on my part I'll be trying to ride the entire WHW on the Friday so may be a bit flat the next day. Been talking about it for a while and the 21st looks like the only day the guys interested can make. Seb
  10. Kenny I'll have the Large skin suit we talked about and if they do short fingered glove I'll have a pair of those in XL. Thanks Seb
  11. Kenny Is there a spare pair of Bib Shorts or possibly a Skin Suit that will fit me? My last pair of wheelers shorts was cut off by a nurse...... Seb
  12. I'd be up for this and should be around that weekend.. Would be good to see a few teams from the club racing. Hope to make some of the TT's over the next few weeks to see how far down the pecking order I've slid. Some good times posted in recent results by many of the regulars Seb
  13. What size is it? May know a possible buyer for a medium size MTB.
  14. For all the other would be Triathletes out there, or those who are generally interested. I came across the following ITU web site while I was housebound last week and used it to watch the world cup event in Madrid. There was #### all on tele.... http://www.triathlon.org/?call=TVRnNQ== It provides live coverage of all the ITU world cup events and will include all the classes in Vancouver next week. Because of the time differences the timings are also a bit more civilised here in the UK. Vicky's AG class starts at 14:30 on Friday the 6th Kerry's Elite race starts at 21:00 on Sunday the 8th The BBC may also do live coverage of some events as they'll have cameras there. Last years elite events were live on the BBC interactive service. This can be accessed through TXT on any tele with a digital receiver when it's tuned to a bbc channel.
