  1. Chris - you sure about the forecast? This is what I see. http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/forecast/gcutqszh0#?fcTime=1445731200 We JWCC are made of sternstuff.
  2. At Miller St. there were 3 (Iain C - on his TT bike!!, Ian H, TT. Thompson) for Largs and 5 (me, Boyd, Gerard, Peter Andy D) for Troon. It was decided that we would all go to Troon. A gorgeous day for a run after the initial chill and a steady pace was maintained. Nice cafe stop at the Blueberry. At Kilwinning on the way back the faster (Largs) 3 went on ahead. I went on past Lochwinnoch (!) and at Kilbarchan took the back roads back to LW to round the mileage up to 70 miles. A lovely day out!
  3. Usual route: Stewarton Kilmaurs Crosshouse and back via Long Drive Kilwinning Route 7. Cafe stop at the Blueberry. About 60 - 65 miles - steady pace. 9:00 Miller St. Who's in?
  4. A bunch of 7 seevn for this. Sprinted for the 30 at Largs but possibly beaten by Iain by a tyre width (photo finish needed!!) Legs felt a bit heavy after Largs so thanks for waiting at Dalry. Otherwise a very pleasant run in good weather conditions. Computer said 18 mpg average!!
  5. Feeling fit(ish) after clocking up 300 miles in Majorca last week so count me in. George - there is no try - only do or do not (Yoda - Star Wars).
  6. No riding today due to torrential rain! Previous 3 days OK. Photo of me at Cap Formentor.
  7. On my way to Majorca tomorrow with bike (and wife!) She said she would clean it when I get back from a ride :-)

    NIGHT OOT.

As I am a real ale drinker I was thinking of having a pre-dinner swally in the Gryffe Inn just up the main street. Paul - Linda is taking me in - do you want a lift?
  9. Brilliant result - well done to all (and that's from a sassenach!)
  10. Gorgeous day for a run to Troon! Bit chilly at the start but it warmed up later. Bunch of 8: me, Renny, Len, Robert, Boyd, Graham, Paul L and 'TT' Thompson. A good pace to Troon. Sat outside the Blueberry enjoying the sunshine but a cold breeze off the sea. A good brisk run back. Boyd and Graham peeled off at Highfield for the track back and Len peeled off at MOD to head for Beith/Lochwinnoch Rest of us headed up the rocky road and then a sprint ensued from Greenacres to the bottom of Bowfield - won by Paul L, me second, 'TT' third. According to my Strava records, when we did the run in early July the average speed was 14.9 - this time it was 16.8!! Well done, guys!
  11. Hi, Tony, Barring mechanicals we usually reach Troon about 10:50. Restart 11:30 to head back. I am usually back in Lochwinnoch by 1:45 taking the longer return via Howwood.
  12. 09:00 Miller Street. Usual route: Bowfield, Dunlop, Kilmaurs, Crosshouse, Cafe stop at Blueberry in Troon. Return via Long Drive, Kilwinning, Cycle route 7. Steady pace ( like last week). Weather looking good! Who's in?
  13. An excellent run. It stayed dry!! Boyd, Emma, Paul L, 2 x David C and me headed over the bridge, Boyd peeled off before Killearn as he had to be back early. Paul introduced us to a new cafe in Fintry - The Courtyard - nice! Only mechanical was my front derailleur coming loose which was quickly fixed. Colin H caught us at the end the bridge on his way back from Kilcreggan and pedalled with us to the end of GTown Road. As usual a solo slog back to Lochwinnoch into the wind but 81 miles in the bag.

Yes - it was a nice afternoon - skived off work to go out on bike! Oh the joy of working from home! I did recognise you Ian. Also saw Ramsey at Glengarnock Thursday evening.
  15. Hi, Chung, I normally do sign in for these things.
  16. Miller street 09:00 Over the bridge - Hardgate - Carbeth - Killearn - Fintry - Crow Rd Cafe stop Clachan of Campsie - Strathblane - Bridge and back. Approximate route: 70 miles http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/806609603 Who's in?
  17. Won't be out as minding grandkids this weekend. It is more exhausting than an 80 mile club run!! Can someone post up something?

    NIGHT OOT.

    Yes Friday is better.
  19. 9 of us made good time to Helensburgh where 6 had a cafe stop and then went up SInclair St. Me Emma and Graham continued up to Glen Fruin with a cafe stop at Balloch. Saw the other group pedal by while we in the cafe. A good run with the rain only starting for me when I was 3 miles from Lochwinnoch - good incentive to push hard for home! 76 miles at a decent pace.
  20. About 15 - 16 mph average. Forecast looking dire so may cancel. Will post before 8:00 tomorrow for those who have replied so far.
