  1. 19:00 Uplawmoor 25 miles,

Meet in the Lay-by at CJS signs, Lugton Rd, Shillford Hamlet , G78 3BA

DO NOT PARK IN THE CAR PARK!!

We don't have permission and there are usually still people working there at that time

The course runs from there to the first roundabout at Irvine and back, slightly lumpy and not the best surface but **less than an hour of painful fun

(**The writer does not take responsibility for any pain over and above 60 minutes, you just need to pedal faster and it'll be over quicker ;)

  2. To count for the cup there need to be minimum 8 from a club (of a single sex for Women, I'm sure it can be mixed for the men's/open if need be) , you enter normally through British Cycling and each club is grouped together on the start sheet, everyone going off at the usual 1 minute intervals as normal but you'll have clubmates in front and behind. So, as many people can enter as they want, there is no selection process, just the 8 fastest from a club to count. It's all pretty relaxed for an open event, a very good place to start if you want to try one, a bit of "fun" with a lot of club level riders having a go

  3. Thanks for sorting this out Mark!

I still need to race in my skinsuit, it's the only up to date kit I've got and I've got a british national championships to race in next week, I am not keen to return it untill the new kit arrives.

  4. Thanks Paul! Yes, managed to pull out an 8th place finish in the national 25.

I wasn't really feeling great after a busy week and a couple of injury tweaks but decided to ride anyway. I've got a good warmup routine going so got set up and ready to go.

There are a few dragging hills on the course, and these are what I was worried about, but I managed to keep up a good 25-27mph on most of them, and also negotiated the 15 or so roundabouts at a good speed too so kept the average speed up nicely. I really enjoyed the downhill and tailwind bits and was flying along at between 31-36mph.

I came in at the end with a 53:52, a good two and a half minutes up on my PB, and I sat in the GSK social club in the lead untill the last seven, and in the end, fastest riders. I was quite close to Ben in 7th, and a minute off 4th so quite pleased with the result at the end!

  5. As posted above by Jann, go with the Grorgetown, if there is a problem we change to Westferry, but the Georgetown should be open.

7pm, chocolate No1, open to everyone, The intention of the series is to encourage newbies and prizes are awarded as such, also minor prizes now for faster riders who improve too

Sorry for the tardy posting, in the middle of a school inspection!

  6. A good turn out on a reasonably good night on the West Ferry, 13 riders took on the slight breeze on the way out and a slightly stiffer headwind on return than expected! At least the rain stayed away!!

I'll do finish order first, then category riders/prizes

    In order of speed:

    Karen G. 29:50

    Carol. 29:11

    Dave. 28:27

    James McK 27:10

    John S. 26:59

    Greg. 25:10

    Alan T. 24:14

    Mike F. 24:06

    Billy. 23:54

    Iain A. 23:24

    Couttie. 23:15

    Mr Cowden. 22:55 PB!
