  1. Finally get to join the Bunch at the return leg at Aberfoyle :-) I rode Loch Katrine counter-clockwise while the Bunch rode it clockwise, luckily past them just near Portnellan. It was a brilliant sight to see all the yellow & blue charging towards me :-) Thanks for waiting for me at Aberfoyle so I could have the chance to scoffed down my roll & cake, so I can get ridingwith the Bunch, cheers all! 192km (Charlie beat me by 1km :-0) ridden and a second good stop in the Westend of Glasgow made it a rewarding day on the bike for me! Thanks for the Wheels & company chaps & more of the same please! cheers
  2. Charlie, I’m in Aberfoyle now stop at Co-op for supplies, no sign of any Wheelers Where are youse? I think I past Scott on the way up the Pipe Track????? Cheers
  3. Charlie, it’s 9.35am here at the bridge, no sign of anyone, hope I’m not late :-/ Cheers
  4. Paul & co, I’ll tag along with youse and I intend to head up to Aberfoyle in this glorious weather, might even do the Dukes Pass :-) but will definitely go over the Crow from Fintry! See you tomorrow morning! Cheers
  5. Paul, I saw that photo on your Strava yesterday, that’s why I took one like that today! :-)
  6. Darryl & Paul, this one is homage to you two :-)
  7. Good to see you again Paul, last time I saw you was us lying on the grass of Roubaix Velodrome :-) Thanks for the route Darryl & everyone for the wheels today! I’ve missed a good few Sundays, so it was great to be back out on a big bunch again :-) Good to meet Scott too! Managed most of the way, decided to head towards the Clunch after Stewarton, but took the wrong turn, what a idiot, had to double back, but all good though! Hope everyone got home ok, especially Robbie’s bad luck with punctures today! Cheers Chung
  8. Darryl, my late entry for tomorrow, will get youse on GT road Inchinnon end! Cheers Chung
  9. This is terrible news & I am lost for words! RIP Alex & my thoughts are with his young family!
  10. Shameless self promotion of me smashing the Pave ...... or was it the other way round :-) ............... oh, I do miss it already!
  11. Hi Glen, It's a bit early to commit, I know I said it will be my last Pave adventure the last time round, but never say never, eh :-) It's a bit premature to say this but I thought I'll chime in with some personal suggestion with my past experiences: 1. I would make this a 6 day trip, rather than 4 & half as previous club venture have been, why? ...... well, Roubaix is on the door steps of some of the best Flanders road/bergs, so having a day or so more can allow you to explore/experience the climbs made famous by Fabian, Tommo el tel.... So, I would suggest travel on the Wednesday by ferry, arrive Belgium on Thursday morning , explore Flanders Thursday & Friday, ride the Sportive Saturday & back home Sunday (or staying till Monday and watch the race also)..... this all depends on means of travel of course. 2. Make your base in Kortrijk, Flanders, rather than Lille (this was the base for my last 3 Roubaix) as it's too busy, the service & roads are pretty rubbish too when compare to Flander towns. Roubaix to Lille -14km, Roubaix to Kortrijk 19km (if you're driving, it's nothing) Kortrijk is much more pleasant & friendly (I've not been myself, but judging by other Flanders town, this should be a good one too) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kortrijk 3. Get a MTN bike .................. :-) haha only kidding! Anyway, whatever/however you decides, I will be following this thread closely ...........as they say, promises are made to be broken .......... now where's my extra bar tapes! Cheers Chung
  12. Unlucky Paul, for a moment there, I was wondering who this new “Darren” bloke was :-) Nice one Darryl! Which cafe did youse go to? There’s a small one in the corner on the road just before you come to the main square, that we went to last time & the owner & staff were really helpful & great service. You could try that next time! Cheers Chung
  13. Sorry Charlie, not going to make it today Have a good one! Cheers Chung
  14. Great work, well done, Ross! I'll have a look in my "stash" but it's all road bike stuff though, not sure if that's any help? Cheers Chung
  15. I think Charlie said something about not been over the Crow for a while
  16. Well, I didn’t have the best start today, notice I had a flat rear wheel (it was fine when I pumped up the tyre last night) upon picking up the bike to head out Damn, had to take the clean bike out despite the wet road this morning, oh well! But the weather got a lot lot better as the day went on, so glad for Iain’s flexible route change & McGinty took us up a climb just after the cafe in Kilcreggan, 19.5% at the steepest point, bugger! But the view was nice though :-) Raymond had a wee chain issue coming down into Farslane and I had my second flat on the day just coming into Balloch, first tubular puncture for me in a while. But before you can say ...... “why the heck you want to ride tubs, you silly sausage?” I had replaced it with my spare tub with a little help from Paul, James & Glen of course :-) & got going again pretty sharpish! Left the Bunch just before the bridge & made my way home solo! Managed my first ton on the summer bike this year, thanks for the wheels & company again today Wheelers! P.S Mul’s Bianchi looks a million dollars, now James - go and get that F10 you’ve set you eyes on! :-) None of that titanium nonsense Cheers
  17. Iain & co, I’ll get youse at Red Smiddy! Cheers
  18. Stevie, just bail at Helensburgh if you’re push for time! Head up to Sinclair st then Balloch or up to Glen Fruinn for some “un-finish” business cheers Chung
  19. Martin, will you still be on the red bike to take the punishment? See you on Sunday! Cheers
  20. Iain & David, May I suggest 9.45am rather than 9.30 at Bridge to allow the 9am folks starting at the clubroom! Also, Iain, can I suggest a slight revised on the route and avoid the Glen Douglas (as good a climb as it is) as the bit on the A82 between Luss & Balloch is just plain awful to cycle on We can go through Helensburgh then pass Rhu & round to Kilcreggan, then on the way back, we can go up Glen Fruinn then down to Arden roundabout for Balloch. This would make a loop rather than returning via Cardross A814 which again is not the best road to cycle on at that time of day. Anyway, regardless of route & start time, I should be out for this one! See youse & hope the weather behaves! Cheers Chung
  21. Well, that was a cracking run today! Lots of hills, lots of wheels, lots of cakes, lots of tube repair (all Charlie’s, great entertainment so it was :-) lots of cold beer & loads of sun shine ............. what else do you need on a May Sunday! Thanks again Charlie, for making my wish come true (I merely hinted to him last Sunday that I’ve not been to Largs for a while) :-) & organising the sun to play ball too! Also to all the wheels today, great company as always! Cheers
  22. Haha ...... sorry, my bad, Martin! But I’m sure you’ll have something soon to trump my ride!
  23. It feels good to be back out riding in a bunch again, all those wheels to follow, so spoiled :-) Great to catch up with all the familiar faces & seeing all the shinny summer “hardware” out on display, I particularly like Darryl’s new bright red Cervelo, very aero & bling! Anyway, thank you Charlie for route mister & everyone for the wheels & company! Hope that’s just the start of more runs like that to come! Cheers Chung
  24. Sounds like a good party, I’m in! If I’m not at the club room for 9am, then I’ll get youse at the end of GT road (Inchinnon end) Cheers Chung
