2023 Subscriptions Elaine Muirhead Posted April 29, 2017 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted April 29, 2017 Hi folks, Heading to Girona at the end of May (with the bike)! Just wondering if anyone has any route maps or suggestions for good cycle routes, climbs or cafes? E
2024 Subscriptions Darryl Gunson Posted April 29, 2017 2024 Subscriptions Report Share Posted April 29, 2017 Hi Elaine lots of cyclists there now and local bike shops should be able to assist. From memory a must do is the Els Angels climb ( very near) and also a run to the coastal resorts. Most of the other routes I rode with Paul McD were a case of just following the bike in front. Enjoy! 2023 Subscriptions Ian Archibald Posted April 29, 2017 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted April 29, 2017 https://www.strava.com/routes/7865242 was a nice route. The famous hill is Rocacorba which this route studiously circumvents. La Fabrica is a cyclist owned coffee shop in the old town. David Millar who lives outside Girona - worth cycling past his house - he must have won some prize money in his time - he was shooting the breeze there when we we were there in March. And pop in to an ex-pat cycle shop "Eat Sleep Cycle" 30 Carrer dels Mercaders - they have weekly cycle runs going from their shop. You will meet the equivalent of ski bums (cycling bums). Loads of em. They live out there cycling their bike and being cool Just like us. George

Committee Alan McLean Posted April 30, 2017 Committee Report Share Posted April 30, 2017 Hi Elaine, coast and back over the hills is very pleasant and minimises exposure to busy roads. Elaine Muirhead
