As much as I've been doing Sufferfest recently, you can't beat proper road miles. A recovery ride for Alan was still enough for me and I bailed up past the cemetery to join the Clune. Actually ended up on some really steep roads! 50 miles for me..the most since Liege...but I felt it near the end and could barely muster a 15mph average. I picked up a bunch of 3 at Skelmorlie, and took advantage of a tow into Largs and the Bagel Basket. From there it was up the Haylie and the track home from Kilbirnie. 62 miles in all, so you weren't the far away Ritchie. Going round the coast in glorious sunshine, watching the seals basking in the winter sunshine was just fabulous. A good winter ride.
