Saturday 23rd August - Main Bunch Run

With the club 25 tt championship running on Sunday and being a confined event there is no main bunch run on Sunday, as I understand things.

Therefore for those wanting a bunch ride next weekend I'm suggesting one on the Saturday.

Leaving Miller Street at 09.00, the route will be

Erskine Bridge, Milngavie, Strathblane, Kilearn, Balfron, Kippen, Fintry, Crow Road, Lennoxtown (cafe stop at Milton of Campsie), usual return back to the bridge via Strathblane and Milngavie. (I'll be heading back thru Glasgow on the return.

Mileage will be high but the opportunities to get the longer runs in are reducing now. Pace will reflect the distance and the lumpy bits. The Crow we all know and love, especially Tom Hill. The climb up through Fintry is a good one with a good descent down into kippen. So send the WAGS to the shops with the kids and get your lycra clad butts in the saddle - the grass can wait til Sunday.

Post up if you're coming out to play.

Mark,

Some of our club mates are ladies so using the term WAGS isn't really appropriate.

Unless you also refer to their partners as HABS.

OK that doesn't really work.

But it's not a good idea to send your wife to the shops with your girlfriend either.

Pedantic nitpicker.

Haven't seen a girlie type out with the main bunch for a long time, but if any girlies want to send their HABS to the pub/footie and join in then they're most welcome.

I assume your knees are still creaky and won't be allowed out or you'll be saving yourself for Sunday once you've done a tour of Silverburn.

Fab run out this morning. Compact groupetto of 6 met at the north end of the bridge for a blast around Stirlingshire and the Campsies. Brisk pace for the most part with the climbs taken at a steady pace. Keeping this one for a bunch run next year.

Warm on the road with very little wind - Superb! Legs pretty tired now.

Happy Birthday Al It's Party time!
