2023 Subscriptions Tom Hill Posted July 1, 2013 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted July 1, 2013 Billy A word of warning: Netherton Road, the next climb and the descent to the farm have had a pothole camouflage makeover. Renfrewshire council call this road dressing, apparently. I went round it on Sunday, both directions. Sphincter was working overtime!!! Passable but with a lot of caution. Guest GEORGE DONNELLY
Bilbo, Â I don't fancy catching your flu & I don't fancy leaving my DNA on the chipped roads of the shire. Â Besides, it's to be chucking it down! Â Comfy slippers on the turbo pour moi. Â Have fun!

Committee Alan McLean Posted July 1, 2013 Committee Report Share Posted July 1, 2013 "They" have poured tons of gravel on the immaculate newly surfaced west glen descent and many of the minor roads leading off it, most of which were perfectly fine. Â Even once the chips bed in (wash off more like) the new sections will be far rougher than the original surface. Really rotten for two wheels. Â Current descent speed on West Glen Road, about 15 km/h.
Alan Fox
Alan Nearer 1900 would be good for me  19:00 it is. Cheers
Guest GEORGE DONNELLY
Can maybe do Wednesday. Â What goes thru these council peeps minds? Â Could they not use up the budget by fixing Glasgow Road? Â The west glen descent was awesome before. Ruined it! Â Â
2024 Subscriptions Darryl Gunson Posted July 2, 2013 2024 Subscriptions Report Share Posted July 2, 2013 Hi Guy  Will also be heading out on Wednesday. Plan is a steady 40 miles to Fenwick, up the A77, then head for Neilston and up the hill Peesweep. Don't want to hijack the thread, but if you decide against hilly ride what with the gravel and all, then company welcome. 6.45 at bottom of Bowfield.  Cheers
DavieB
Darryl, Â I still have your knee warmers (which have already done one club run neatly folded in my back pockets) and figure in this type of weather you might be needing them!! Â Will try and hook up with you tomorrow night to return them but may not go the full route. Â Cheers, D Darryl Gunson
