Paul C
Last year the April TTs were two up. Has it really changed this year or just a typo?

KennyS
The restriction is on the biggest (hardest) gear that you can use which is a 39*13 (81 inch) or equivalent A map of the course is on the link http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/14767304 Two laps of course. Starting and finishing at same place Parking normally available in Gateside village
Iain Cowden
Great to see the re-emergence of the restricted gear event which I think hasn't been run since 2010 . Carol & Dave were asking me a bit about it at the Velodrome last night - for once I was reasonably well informed due to some recent reading. The following is from Tim Hilton's delightful and meandering "One More Kilometre and We're in the Showers- Memoirs of a Cyclist" (Harper Perennial), Chapter 111, page 71, when discussing British club cycling and the pattern of the year. "The new cycling year begins after the club dinners. ...In February we find "reliability trials", fast training rides, open to all comers. Then come the first time trials of the year, often on restricted gears, and two up events..." So, the shape of the confined calendar follows a wider tradition it seems. Due thanks to Kenny C for steering the book in my direction - a great read and valuable reference! Iain
2023 Subscriptions Ramsay Posted April 28, 2013 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted April 28, 2013 All, In recent years the club 25 mile championship has been decided by taking the fastest 25 times from all club members, without an actual event. However, this year it has been decided to incorporate the the 2013 JWCC confined 25 mile TT championship into the Sam Dooley event on 25th August 2013. Billy's post above has been amended to reflect this. The Sam Dooley is an open time trial run under British Cycling/Scottish Cycling rules. Entry can be found here:- https://www.britishc...-TT---Westferry Also, please note that the events calendar on the JWCC website is now updated for 2013 (apologies for delay) - http://www.johnstone-wheelers.co.uk/events-wheelers/events-calendar-wheelers#year=2013&month=4&day=28&view=month Cheers, R
