John Malcolm
Plan is once at Dunoon to head for Toward Lighthouse and perhaps Loch Strivan(depends on weather). Flat route on good roads. Few hills(nothing too bad) if we head to the head of the Loch at NATO fuel depot. Cafe stop in Dunoon on return. The 10.30 Ferry looks like a target but remember to stop at the shop in Gourock for the half price tickets. Cheers John
ebish
Estimated return time? So I can ask for permission to attend...
John Malcolm
Ewan. Depends on ferry times but I would think you should be in the house by 3.30 at the latest. If you are running short on time on the return you can always take the train at Gourock. John

2023 Subscriptions BoydJohnston Posted October 12, 2012 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted October 12, 2012 I should be there for this one, but probably just as far as the ferry as it looks like I'll be a bit time-constrained on Sunday. If there's anyone else not doing the full run, I'll be glad of some company on the way back to Johnstone. Â I've not done much in the last few weeks, so you'll have to take it easy on me. If I have rapid improvement overnight I might have a rethink but as it stands tonight, I'm not going to be there. Have a great one! John Malcolm
Thanks to everyone. Bunch of 10 set out, 9 crossing the water. It was wet and a bit cold at times. Coffee and soup in Dunoon was good. Good few miles at a good pace. Sorry to miss the next two weeks but duty free and sunshine has tempted me. Well done to all on a day not ideal for cycling. 2023 Subscriptions BoydJohnston Posted October 14, 2012 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted October 14, 2012 Good run, folks. Thanks. Â I had >72 miles on the clock by the time I got home - shows how the 30-milers have moved on this year.
Kay10ant
If it was u lot I saw about 14:10 in front of Greenock fire station , you were looking good if a wee bit soggy. I was going the other direction causing chaos at the traffic lights in the company car. .
John Malcolm
That was us Kay. Soaked, tired but enjoying the run. Pity you were working it was a good day and you would have enjoyed it. Company car could do with a wash.
2023 Subscriptions carol cowan Posted October 15, 2012 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted October 15, 2012 Good longish flat run yesterday in the heavy rain at times., requiring some of us to disguard with items of soaked clothing. I thought Michael Fish was part of the bunch in places as forecast was way off, but we battled on bravely with usual humour. Bit more of a hilly run next week. ebish
Sounds like it was a bit damp! Glad I stayed tucked up in my bed recovering from (so far not very) fatal plague (a cold). Any 30milers fancy a run through the week (I'm on the mend) drop me a pm and we can arrange. Otherwise see you Sunday. Cough cough. Ewan.
