Colin H
Anybody fancy a wee offroad jaunt to Glentress. Thought some might be up for this following Kenny C's round the Cree "last big miles of the year " ride and the Pedal for Scotland ride. Was thinking a wee run around the red route (via the skills area for those who want to refresh or test out their offroad skills) including a couple of goes at the Spooky Wood section (fast roller coaster section). Post up if you fancy and we can confirm numbers/times etc. Cheers Colin

DavieB
Colin, Never been down before - is the route possible with 'cross bike or is full MTB set up essential? Davie
2023 Subscriptions Ramsay Posted September 9, 2010 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted September 9, 2010 Would love to come, but will be in Bute. I was round the red route on Monday for the first time in a couple of years. There are bits that are fairly bumpy/rocky, so would suggest a MTB. It could be done on a crosser, but some sections would be fairly uncomfortable/difficult. Enjoy. R
DavieB
Thanks for the info Ramsay..... checked the web-sites and it looks like great fun but will give it a miss as no MTB at present. Cheers, Davie
Colin H
Davie (and others), Bikes (good ones at that) can be hired for a very reasonable £35 for the day (at least it cost that last time I was there) from the Hub bike shop located in the Glentress car park. Follow the links from the 7stanes web site to see what's avaliable. Kenny C, are you still up for this? Colin
Kenny Christie
Colin, apologies for the tardy reply. I will need to rain-check this as I am doing the 2 up on Bute on that day. I am keen to visit Glentress on another day though.
