simon simpson
Is anyone up for a hostel weekend? This is Option A Go away early Saturday Morning stay over arrive back mid afternoon sunday We've been to lochranza, Brodick and Wanlockhead of late but may try somewhere else. A hostel is about £12 a night It will probably be weekend of the 25th / 26th October or November 8th / 9th. When staying in a hostel we cook for ourselves as one big group cost is about 10-12 pounds for dinner and breakfast and if we eat out a bit more. Option B A hostel a bit further away; drive up Friday night, ride all day Saturday, drive home Sunday. Possible venues; Private hostel on Loch Tay, Pitlochry, somewhere near Moffat Please post up if you are interested , which dates and which option OR suggest your own alternatives... ss
2023 Subscriptions martin Posted September 20, 2008 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted September 20, 2008 Great idea count me in, but w/e 25/6 is the Braveheart run and dinner. There's a few of us down for that one. So, count me in for the fireworks weekend! M
2023 Subscriptions P McDonald Posted September 21, 2008 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted September 21, 2008 Yip, up for this as usual. I think the weekend that worked best for all the regulars in the past few years has been 2nd or 3rd weekend in November. Anyway I am keen but cannot do the 8th/9th option, will be along if its any other date. cheers
2024 Subscriptions Darryl Gunson Posted September 21, 2008 2024 Subscriptions Report Share Posted September 21, 2008 I'd almost forgotten, it's that time of year again. I'm keen but a bit limited on dates. Seems the only possibilities for me are: Oct 18/19th Nov 1/2 Nov 8/9 Nov 29/30 Cheers Darryl

2023 Subscriptions P McDonald Posted November 2, 2008 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted November 2, 2008 I can do 29th / 30th - if there is not as much interest as previous years how about a curry night on 28th or 29th with a very long ride (Dunoon peninsula) the day before or after? PMcD btw - Anyone know if the Renfrew bunch whose honourable members convene at the public convenience of a Saturday morn is happening yet - I'm planning to partake from next week. Or in plain language is the renfra bogs bunch dooin the biz yet?
simon simpson
Paul, and everyone, apologies for the non organisation It seemed impossible to find a weekend to suit all until December and I thought that'd be too late Perhaps next year we need to decide that bit quicker Curry night is promising: why not do a separate post for it? ss
2024 Subscriptions Darryl Gunson Posted November 2, 2008 2024 Subscriptions Report Share Posted November 2, 2008 I think Paul's idea is just the thing. Ride first though? No-one was at the Renfra toilets at 10 or 10.30 this week, but I'm told they all went up to Oban. I'm planning on joining them for the next few weeks. I'm assuming it is 10.30 (as in the past).
