  1. I know a lot of this is all down to personal preference but what is the thinking on bar width? I run 40's on the road but ran massive 800mm bars on the MTB. I was thinking either 44 or 42. (bearing in mind the bike will be doing more winter road miles initially with a bit of cross before becoming my summer gravel bike)
  2. Are those fizik bars still available Boyd?
  3. I've got a loan of the Friston over the weekend to see how it goes. The 1X system as its set up might be a bit spiny for the road but I'll give it a bash.
  4. For Sale Elite Training mat and adjustable raiser block. Both brand new and in box never used. Came with new turbo but I already have these items. RRP 105 £50 quid - in Elderslie
  5. I picked up a Glencoe today and it is a weighty beast. food for thought. the Whyte Griston is a decent spec and probably a bit better suited for cross. I did look at the space chicken but I'm a local bike shop sort of guy!
  6. I remember chatting about it graham - whyte Glencoe is the front runner from the shop at the moment!
  7. I am currently in the market for a winter/gravel/cross bike. Ideally, I would be looking for something in the region of 51/2cm. 12mm through axle and disc. Would also be interested in 1x. Something I can run road wheels on in the winter but put bike tyres on and smash about the fire roads in the summer Something like the on one Bish bash bosh would be perfect. This might be a bit niche set of requirements though.

    Tubeless setup

Tubeless for the win. I got the new wheels set up tubeless - difference is night and day on the road bike. Got a puncture the other day (glass I'm sure) sealant starts to spray out so I put my thumb on the hole and presto. fixed. The only issue is that the sealant doesn't wash out your new Gabba all that well!
  9. Too fast for me and I wasn't feeling to hot after the cold last week. A winter of turbo hell and I'll be better next year. I promise!

I might be about for this - I'll let you know Sunday night.
  12. Looking for a cheap set of rollers to buy/borrow/rent. Old turbo won't fit the through axle's on the new bike so looking to get a hold of a set of rollers until my new turbo arrives in 3 weeks.
  13. I missed the boat on submitting a team for the ToB!
  14. So at the second rest day the rankings remain the same despite a little bit of back and forth - The battle between Froome and nibali has kept me in the the lead!
  15. Ideal Dave. Just let me know when you want to collect.
  16. Continental Grand Sport Tyres 23mm for sale - 500km never punctured. Tubes included. Have been replaced by tubeless tyres. £10 for the pair. Can be collected from Elderslie
  17. Rest Day Wrap Up So at the first rest day it's been all action in the JWCCFV. After stretching out an early lead Stevie was comfortably at the top of the board with the double header GC team of Froome and Nibali with Billy et al all but given up hope of clawing back the deficit. This year the Veulta has not been kind to the sprinters but Trentin made up some points for those foolhardy enough to select him for their teams. A stage win for Alaphilippe also boosted his numbers. Marc and Charlie will regret selecting a sick Degenkolb who has tanked his team! A bold choice of Contador may well pay off for Paul but his off day has hurt his GC points accumulation - his improving form (blood bag anyone) is inspiring. De Gents time on the front in break always has helped Eric and Mark's numbers. Let us be honest If you haven't picked froome, and barring all disasters, you'll be hard pushed to make it up now!
  18. Nightmare - The segment starts from the Stop line on the opposite side of the crossroads - moving time 4.06 - segment time 4.31.
  19. I'm tight for time this Sunday so will come along for a bit and then turn back.
