  1. Really good ride today, lots of new roads for me and 'transmitter' hill....thanks PaulL & DavieB for the route. Weather was much better than forecast, sadly two punctures but received great support from AlanMcL and DavidC to get going again, cheers boys!
  2. Got no idea where you're going or how to get there but is there room in this 'exclusive' bunch for a fat holidaymaker? Could be in body-shock returning from 28c to 12c!! All being well I'll meet you at clubroom.

  4. Good luck for a successful night, all points for uphill sections...!
  5. A wee 'bump' for this message. Our JWCC Official Strava page is where it's at! Follow your club to link above, most of the relevant activity by members is now being recorded here. For anyone who missed the original message see above and remember to cancel/leave the old site, there remains some 75 'members' of the unofficial site and it would be good to confine this one to history. with thanks.
  6. Nice one Paul, enjoyed the run to Troon and back, been wanting to try this one for ages, good cafe stop and brisk ride home!
  7. Paul's review covers a great day out. Big totals in climbs and distance, enjoyed the Loch Katrine road...something different but also during the wettest spell of the day. At Erskine Bridge didn't follow the lemmimgs leaping out across the off ramps to get to the A82, but followed the traditional route round the footie park, maddest thing I've seen in cycling! JWCC bunch worked really well for the most part, got to expect a few cutting loose every now and again over such a long day! Always regrouping. Special mention for the organiser Graham and his family who had coffee and food available in his back garden before 8 a.m. and then a variety of brilliant hot food, cakes and drinks at the end for all finishers to enjoy.

Paul, I'd love a go at SA but can't do 24th as on holidays!
  9. Attachments opened ok - a lot of the route appears familiar but with no map to confirm I'm not 100% certain of all, so don't follow me! food stops - Inversnaid is good and anywhere else you all feel like. memo to self - eat more this time! club jerseys or incognito?
  10. Ian, before I go and do myself a mischief on SoW later this week please confirm the segment IS Monkey House All the Way Up at 1.3k and not the similarly named Monkey House Climb at 0.8k!
  11. Yip, I'm in, looking forward to a nice long (dry!) day on the bike, with café stops!

    Inspirational!
  13. The full lumpy Largs hits the spot, Aargh, painful! Good weather, good bunch, good hills & miles....and first BB visit since the winter rides, mmm nice!
  14. Sunday for me... gotta love Lumpy Largs!
  15. Conditions were cold and wet en route beyond Dumbarton and much of the way around with a breeze picking up later, ending with a dry sunny spell. Eight in the bunch maintained a good steady pace, added interest for us today in passing through the road stage of a triathlon for most of our ride through Glen Fruin and then a road race in full flow along the Rosneath road. Ian A spotted in Kilcreggan café while out supporting John. Kilcreggan café was a welcome break from the rain, always a nice stop. Good strong ride back, punctuated by a puncture for IainC, all in a decent day out.
  16. Sunday ride... sunny day, beautiful country... sorry no photos! Small bunch of five, Chung, Richie, Iain, Greg and me managed two/three punctures and one crash mostly involving Richie, who is clearly pleased to be out again! Errr... ah fell aff ma bike ! Via Dumbarton, Drymen, pipe track to Aberfoyle for rolls & coffee then back again (joined by Darren to Croftamie) in the heat of the day...big blue skies, wonderful!
  17. Hi Iain & Greg, I would be up for Aberfoyle on Sunday.
