  1. Sounds good to me. Most of my riding this year has been with the 30 milers, but I've done a couple of main bunch trips. Didn't finish either of them. I guess intermediates would be the right level for me.

    Long Coast

Eventually clocked up 63 miles at around 17mph average, pretty decent for me. Struggling quite a lot by the time the sprint to Largs started, hence the prudent decision to head up Healie and back via Kilbirnie. Legs are pretty much dead now, but had a good day out and got some real help staying on. Aren't jelly babies marvellous? I wouldn't have gotten back without them
  3. I love the sound of that managed club run. Coming back on topic, as one of those newer riders, I appreciate the guidance. Aero bars duly removed.
  4. Great turnout, looking forward to this now
  5. 3 more tickets for me please. That's 5 in total.
  6. Missed it this week through work Applied for next week though
  7. Thanks to all the guys that helped me out, towing me along and the occasional shove as I was blowing hard out both ends. Just a pity all your efforts came to naught after my double mechanical thanks to a badly filled pothole as I was chasing the pack through Moscow. I did make it to Galston, but my bike was so full of rattles I had to turn back. And I had no idea where I was supposed to be going anyway, but at least I was able to re-trace the route home. Maybe next week.
  8. I'll have one please. Probably in large. . .
  9. I'll be cycling down from Houston. 6.15 at the traffic lights at Magnus Road if anyone's interested in a group commute.
  10. If there's no intermediates run, I'd be in favour of flat Ardrossan. Provided I can get a tow some of the way at least.

    Technics hi-fi

I have an elderly technics hi-fi system comprising tuner/amp,twin cassette deck, CD player and 40Wrms mordaunt shott speakers. It's pretty much obsolete now with the advent of digitised music, so it's free to a good home, or as a donation to the clubhouse. I'd really be distraught to throw it out. Pm me if there's any interest.
  12. Won't have a partner this week, so I can timekeep or give people a push off.
  13. Thanks for the timekeeping Jan. a bit disappointed with my time, but I guess Sunday wasn't the ideal preparation at my stage. I'll crack 26 minutes next year. Congrats to whoever ends up winning.
  14. I've already said I'll help out but if there's a run out afterwards, I'm up for that. Pace dependant, of course.
  15. Thoroughly enjoyed that, even if I couldn't live with the pace for long, and very, very, very tired by the time John S. and I turned onto the Georgetown Road. Thanks to they guys that gave us a tow from the cottages, we really needed that. Did I mention I was tired? Thanks for the company guys.

    Training / season 2014

I'm up for some scientific, sweaty targeted training. Looking to improve general fitness and endurance.
  17. Giving it serious thought. I quite fancy the longer run so long as it's not too quick.
  18. So 3 of us set off and covered around 47 miles at a fairly sedate 15mph or so. Against all common sense, we seemed to have the wind in our faces all the way round, and here was a fair bit of uphill stuff too. All good though. Thanks to Elaine and John for the company. I'm off for a lie down now. .
  19. Paid for my shorts and top by BACS today. Can I get them on Tuesday evening at Westferry please. Ta
