  1. Good ride, today was a new PB for Sinclair Street so while im still slow climbing things are heading in the right direction. Apologies about the racket my bb was making particularly after Dumbarton on the way back! Hope you made it home ok Mark and your head (and bike!) is alright
  2. Aim to be there for the group at 10 My bb was making a racket when i was out this afternoon and i havent been able to sort it yet so apologies in advance for the noise, just hope it doesnt fall apart tomorrow!
  3. Enjoyable night - Only missed a week of racing/training but the previous couple before that i felt off the pace so wasnt sure how i'd get on. First up was a scratch, there was a crash with about 2 laps to go and there was a bit of a pause with most thinking the race was going to be neutralised. However there were a couple of riders who continued to race and got a gap and as there were no flags being waved i tried and catch them. Didnt manage this got a 3rd which was then upgraded to a 2nd after a relegation. Next up was points, think i got a 2nd and a 3rd, then just hung on for the rest, once again not good enough! Last race of the night was another scratch - an early attack had someone dangling off the front for a few laps that eventually got closed down then there was another attack and someone else getting quite a big gap with maybe about 7 or 8 to go, this was getting pulled in gradually then with about 4 to i tried bridge which i managed - had about 1 second of recovery on his wheel before i attacked and managed to make it stick. I was sure i could hear someone on my wheel during all of this so was pleasantly surprised when i realised i had a gap.
  4. Anyone else? C for me Is it just a normal track league night or is it a 'va va vroom' keirin night like it was this time last year?
  5. Slept in so missed the intended 0930 group and instead went with the 0945...which meant a tough day although i suspect the 0930 would have felt just as tough too! From about Stewarton on the way back i really started to suffer - the elastic kept threatening to snap but managed to hang on with the others easing up a bit. Probably needed a ride like this to blow the cobwebs away!
  6. Looking at the results from last year it seems like it was possible for clubs to have more than 1 team involved. Dont know if there enough interest to fill 2 teams though?
  7. Starting to feel a bit better so will hopefully make it out, 9.30 for me
  8. I'd be up for a team entry too Here are the details - seems there are 400 team places and entries open on 4th March http://www.prudentialridelondon.co.uk/The_Events/Prudential_RideLondon-Surrey_100/Entries/British_Cycling_Club_Challenge.htm
  9. That was one of the best hour and a bit of racing i've seen in ages, great stuff...final couple of laps in particular pure theatre!
  10. have a chest infection so having to give it a miss this week
  11. Not going to be able to make it now Got a chest cold and dont want to make things worse, kind of frustrating as i was looking forward to it - hopefully be ok for reliability 2
  12. Sounds good will be able to enter the one in March but not the one in May
  13. Hope to be there I've never done a reliability run before - is there a regrouping at the top of the Clune or is a case of if you are dropped then you're on your own for the rest of the route?
  14. Tough night in the Cs for me. Felt fine for most of the night, hiding at the back, managed to move up to an ok position towards the end but just had no acceleration when it mattered - although for once the points race wasnt too bad (not that i scored many points!) managed to get in a breakaway and we stayed away for about 8 laps, so it felt like i was at least making a race of it, much more enjoyable that way. If id done ok tonight i had intended to enter the Bs next week but i guess that will have to wait.
  15. I wont be able to make it on Friday so if there is a PM going around can i have it too please Incidentally there was a small article on pactimo on bikeradar a couple of days ago: http://www.bikeradar.com/road/news/article/pactimo-custom-clothing-just-in-39573/
  16. Did this last year not sure if i can make it this year yet. Its a good event on quiet roads. Remember to save a bit in the tank for the final few miles as the hardest climb is towards the end.
  17. Enjoyed tonight - sure beats the TV on a sunday. thanks for the coaching Billy.
  18. I think you can get replacement ratchets for sidis Specialized shoe prices have gone up quite a bit in the last 2 or 3 years. I'm happy with mine but they are starting to fall apart but reluctant to pay the asking price for a new pair. Tempted by the Fizik R3 on Planet X at the moment for £60, no idea what the fit is like though.
  19. Thanks Where and when would be convienient to pick up? Alternatively if anyone is picking up theres before sunday and going to the wosca session could you pick mine up too?
  20. Managed to get a place tonight, albeit with a mispelling of my name and no club. Points first up in the Cs, managed to get one of the sprints but after that didnt do much. Same as usual then. Paul managed to get a 2nd. Next up a devil, quite pleased with this as also managed to get a 2nd, had a couple of close calls at the back so moved to the front and rode from there. Ended up leading out the final sprint like an idiot - Another recurring theme! Last was a 20 lap scratch, went for it with 3 laps to go which was a bit too far out but was sort of forced into it. Got overtaken on the backstraight but couldnt respond although managed to hold off the rest. There was a rider just in front of the two of us as we crossed the line - at the time i was sure he was in the process of being lapped, however he was given the win so maybe not
  21. There was a problem with my online entry so while i'll be there im not sure if i'll be racing or not.
  22. 84 miles is enough to complete the Strava Gran Fondo challenge...i ended up adding on a couple of extra miles at the end so i could get it finished
  23. Good run today, early on the ice was pretty bad on the side roads but once out on the main roads it was alright. Feeling a bit better than i was a few weeks ago but still got a long way to go. Was at pretty much full gas up the Clune to keep up with Alan and Mark who were taking it easy and chatting away!
  24. Aim to be out will probably meet at the bridge
