  1. Have a great run, folks. I'll be in Majorca, pining for the wind and rain - not!
  2. Have a great day, folks. Don't forget to wait for Greig at the top of the hills
  3. Great idea, Chung. Sorry I can't be with you. Family visiting this week-end.
  4. Greig, I'm quite happy to join up with the 30-milers - depending on who's there from the usual intermediates and what they want to do. Tony did suggest this earlier in the year, particularly the groups setting out together and having a route where the group can have options for taking a shorter or longer route home. I've already proposed this for tomorrow's run, when a lot of the intermediate group will be away doing the Moffat run, and we have done this a couple of times this year. With winter approaching, and probably fewer people going out, then a combined group makes good sense.
  5. I should be at Miller St for 09:00. No thoughts on a route yet - depends on the weather and who else turns up. I'll try to have a couple of options - which could include some socialising with the 30-milers.
  6. I'm in Liverpool this week-end, so somebody else will have to post a route if there's a quorum for a run this Sunday. See you all next week.
  7. Kenny, I can help out from early on until early afternoon. Let me know where you'll be setting up at 7am and I'll try to be there. Boyd
  8. Kev, I'm really sorry about that. I did not realise that you had dropped back so far behind Len to miss the first turn and I only waited long enough to see Len make the turn. Hugh and I waited at the second turn, then realised that we should have waited at the first turn. It should not have happened and I'll accept responsibility for the cock-up.
  9. I'm planning to be there for 09:00, looking for about 50 - 60 miles. I'll post a couple of possible routes later tonight. Open to suggestions if anybody has a particular run they want to do. Try these : http://ridewithgps.com/routes/1558873 http://ridewithgps.com/routes/1558716
  10. Thanks to Tony for finding a good, hilly route today. Six of us set out with the thirty-milers, leaving them at the bridge to carry on through Bishopton to a maze of back roads round Renfrewshire - Tony logged 52 miles. Hope Campbell is ok after a touch of wheels as we neared Bowfield on the way home left him bleeding and his back wheel knackered.
  11. Thanks for the suggestion, Tony. I'll probably take the tour of Renfrewshire with you and anybody else who wants to tag along. See you at 9:00
  12. I'm thinking of heading out with the thirty-milers again with a view to catching the early ferry. Open to other suggestions, though, if there are enough people to make a reasonable group.
  13. I did pretty much the same run at the beginning of June and got home with 63 miles on the clock - which includes about 6 miles to and from Miller St. We can have a cake stop in Largs and cut the run a bit shorter by heading home via Haylie Brae or find a route that's a bit easier by heading further down towards West Kilbride before turning off. We can decide when we get to Largs and see how the weather is and how everybody is feeling. See you all in the morning.
  14. Was thinking of joining the 30-milers as far as Gourock, then continuing down the coast and up onto Fairlie Moor - or maybe a less severe route home (depending on who's there) - as I don't have time for a trip doon the watter. Anybody else coming along?
  15. Matt, I'm sure Tony can find us a few hills after Stewarton, and there will be good company from the 30-milers to take us out there. See you at the club rooms for 9am.
  16. Sounds like a plan, Tony - unless there are any alternate suggestions. Cheers,
  17. Anybody planning to go out at 9:15? No real suggestions - weather forecast is not too good, but I'm up for getting a few miles in.
  18. Sounds good, Chung. Unfortunately family duties mean I have to be back in Paisley before 13:00. I may do what I did last week and come out maybe to Dumbarton or Helensburgh and turn round. Should be at the club rooms for 9:15 anyway. Boyd
  19. Pity I had to break out early, it was shaping up to be a really good run with a nice size of group. I finished with just over 50 miles on the clock and still got through to Livingston in time to meet up with a lovely little boy-with-no-name (yet). Apart from the decision on the name, everything is fine with mother and son. Thanks to Iain for organizing something a bit different for the group. Boyd
  20. Matt / Don, I suggest meeting, as Matt suggested, at the old Dobbie's at the junction of Hawkhead Rd and Barrhead road at 9:00. We can head up through the Hurlet / Barrhead Rd / Pollockshaws Rd / Haggs Rd - should take about 30 minutes or so to get to the Burrell.
  21. Iain, I'm planning on doing this run. However, my plans could be disrupted by the imminent arrival of a new grandchild - due at the beginning of this week. All going well, I should be there. Where in Pollock Park, and what time are you hoping to start? I'll probably cycle up from Paisley if anybody is coming from that direction and wants some company. I'll post again on Saturday to confirm.
  22. Sounds like a plan - 09:00 it is for a trip to Largs.
  23. Is anybody out for this one at 09:15? The run in the plan is Sun 1st July Tour of Inverclyde (Bill Thomson) http://ridewithgps.com/routes/939426 43 miles Or we could always join up with the 30-milers going out at 09:00.
