Well done the famous five! I came down out of curiosity to see who was daft enough to go to largs in that weather.I however decided to take the real mans option and go mtn biking with Tony, we acended the great heights of car park in the sky waded rivers ( well perhaps a stream) got lost on the wild moors above Barrhead fought off wild cows and horses, but being wheelers we triumphed, no bagel stop for us just cold feet. well done to everyone that managed a cycle to day. Bring on next sunday. iain

I am looking for an old working hi fi system with radio and cd player, preferably with a remote, It is for using in the stable block at work, it neads to be a reasonble size as the shed is not small, an old stacking system would be ideal. My budget is a stagering £50! Iain 01505 702565

the weather looks to be quite windy on sunday, so i wonderd if anyone was up for a bit of mtn bike or cx.i was thinking of johnstone, blue bell woods up to car park in the sky, over to braes car park, follow the path to back of fox bar, over to barrhead up through the farm at the cycle track car park, out the top end of barrhead then on the road home via bowfield. i did this run last year and it is quite hard work but would suit either mtn bike or cx bikes, i think!.Time to suit whoever wanted to go. iain

Just thought i would fill you in on an interesting bike ride.i was invited over to mugdock park for a night mountian bike ride with one of the lads i did the 24hr cycle with.If you want to feel old go mtn biking with a bunch of pubecent 20 yr olds.it started of well, the tracks are good and my lights are bright. We cycle for a couple of miles and then stop for a short breather. Now most of the conversation that we have at the wheelers coffee stops consists of gear ratios and what interval training will get middle age man able to survive a sportive or race. These lads have a different take on things, this being a family site sufice to say it involved night clubs,Scarlet Johansson alchahol and wishfull thinking. Now there are some conversations that 50 year olds just are not able to contribute. Then we headed of into the woods again the tracks got that hard to follow i kept cycling into the trees and getting a facefull of firr tree. Then to the off camber runs, when we practiced these at linwood getting it wrong did not involve falling down a banking into the river. Then we had the technical decents, or muddy cliff face, this is where i took of over the handle bars and received lots of constructive advice!! It got that muddy that the lad in front fell off and couldnt climb back up on his hands and knees to get his bike, i had to drop it down to him.we then had some good foot paths to blast allong back to the car park. I have ben invited over again, probably just for amusement value. So i will extend the offer to other club members to join me so that we can show what wheelers can realy do!! iain

I dont think that you should complain about mud guards going into the wet season, after all we have had so many dry dusty runs that a bit of rain to keep the dust down is welcome, you just have to cast your mind back to the memorial run over the water, we all nearly died of sun stroke, so i for one am glad it is mud guard time. flipper
