  1. That's both I've got to worry about now... And Etape Du Dales the weekend after.
  2. My entry was accepted for the first time in 3 years! I'll still do the club ride in august, however.
  3. http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2013/jan/14/nicole-cooke-retirement-statement Uncomfortable reading from an all time great
  4. This makes my 3.5 hours in the snow sound almost pleasant.
  5. Maybe next year... I'm down for this http://www.sportcommunication.info/lapebie/
  6. Only if there's something in it for him...
  7. Team calamity rides again? Where is it?
  8. As an alternative to the Fred (and half the price!), may I suggest this? http://www.epicevents.co.uk/cycle-sportives/lakeland-loop-cycle-sportive-sunday-april-7th-2013.html It follows almost the same route as the Fred but cuts out Kirkstone (and the 8 mile terror of the A66!) and replaces it with Dunmail Raise which is a decent climb from the Eastern side. I've already entered, so more wheelers the better!
  9. I'm entering, I'd be tempted to wait until the published list comes out to decide if we do it as a JWCC group or not as a lot of people miss out (i've failed to get a ride for 3 years straight!), well worth doing the organised route, however.
  10. Enjoyed a few rides into work with Kerry last year
  11. Personal highlights: Team Calamity on the Chocolate Cup, a club HC Champs (which my wife will testify from my raning when I got home was A BIG DEAL), magic legs on the Robert Millar Sportive, landing the Commonwealth job. Pro Highlights: Wiggins, Boonen and a Garmin GT win. Also, my parents neglected to tell me a Belgian ex-pro lives on their street now.
  12. Can't make it I'm afraid, following my performance at the works do, this is probably a blessing for you all. Have a great night!
  13. Mark knows a thing or two about stick in spoke moments...
  14. Can't do 28th, 30th ok. Not going to whinge if it doesn't go my way, however. Thanks for putting the effort in Mark!
  15. I was on the A and B roads up around Milngavie etc and even up the A81 was all Ice free and well gritted, if you're looking for a longer ride.
  16. Latecomer! Drinks on 15th fine, food on 30th fine. Owt else and I'm sojourning in the Lakes. Will abide by the majority.
  17. Is it me, or is this a really unhelpful way to look at the issue?
  18. I could be up for this, date dependent. Any time up to the 21st OK for me I think.
  19. Yup! 2 Weeks off then back to the horror of gym and turbo. Really happy with how the year has gone, despite some inturruptions, winning the club HC was a big deal for me.
  20. Here we are! http://www.kimroy-photography.co.uk/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=130475
  21. Was happy just to get up it Paul, I can barely walk now... my arms were most tired bit after I finished as there was no balance coming from my back at all.
  22. No idea where I finished... my time was 3.33 and fastest time when I left was 2:41 so not pulling up any trees! The day was slightly marred by me falling over on a wooden floor 5 minutes before the start and injuring my back. Gave Glasgow Wheelers' Dave Griffiths a lift down and he had a stunning ride in the 2:50s Pictures to follow!

  24. Off down to sunny Lancashire to take on Ramsbottom Rake on Sunday, looking to build on my stunning 92nd place on the same hill in 2005 (I did beat Michael Hutchison though!)... Long way to go for 4 minutes of pain, but there we are!
