  1. Too wet this morning so will give it a miss. It is to dry up later so will venture out this afternoon.
  2. Family commitments!!! I never put them before cycling! Sorry to hear about your bike so near to Paris Roubaix. I 'll be there on Sunday - weather looking good. Will not do the whole route. Will you be able to borrow a bike? I'll be using my summer bike. You can use my Boardman - it has 54 cm frame (and SRAM gears)
  3. See sportive section below. ( I always forget to look down at that section!!)
  4. Did this in 2011. Quite a nice route. Most of the money goes to charity http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/343446533 http://cairnomountchallenge.org.uk/highland-perthshire-challenge/routes/ It would be good to get a good turnout like DRumlanrig. Anyone interested?
  5. At Croftamie 5 of us headed back to the bridge. We decided to skip the cafe stop as were cold and damp. Just as well cos the weather turned nasty just as I got home about 13:20. Felt better than last week even with the substantial beer consumption of yesterday evening!
  6. Alan - do they have 100 km Audax? Anybody else for this run or is it just me and Chung? I am not doing the full route.
  7. A definite maybe. Sportive is 78 miles (125 KM) so a good distance for me! Do they do OAP rates?
  8. Time constraints! - no! Just old and knackered!
  9. Chung - nae bother - saved me having to do it and you are so eloquent! It was a very pleasant run at a steady pace! Enjoyed it (apart from the headwind back to Lochwinnoch after I split from the bunch at Howwood!)
  10. John - if you want to reduce the miles we could meet you at junction of the Glennifer braes road and the Lugton road. You know where that is? Say 09:30?
  11. Hi, Boyd, Why not come out with my group? You can peel off when you feel like it! It would be good to see you!

A struggle for me today. Not fit enough. After Chung and I split from the group at Dunlop we headed to Fenwick up the A77 where I parted company at Mearns and then had a 17 mile battle with the wind back to Lochwinnoch via LOchlibo Road Caldwell Gateside and BEith Still 53 miles on the clock and no cafe stop!!

WARNING Just back from walking the dog. There are long stretches of sheet ice on the track from Lochwinnoch towards Kilbirnie. Don't think it will be gone by tomorrow morning unless the forecast overnight rain melts it away. I assume it will be the same in the other direction towards Johnstone so I will take the main road.
