  2. Looks like Aldi will have another sale of cycling clothing etc starting from 4th May. I've never bought their products but I hear they get good reviews for the price. May be ideal for beginners or returners not looking to spend too much.

    Anyway, here's a link to Aldi https://www.aldi.co.uk/en/specialbuys/sunday-4th-may/,

    and here's a link to a RoadCC review http://road.cc/content/news/117615-aldi’s-latest-cycling-bargains-include-shorts-jerseys-convertible-jacketgilets.

  3. I'll be getting road shoes soon icon_rolling_smile I'll take a visit into Thompsons and see what is there. How do I go about becoming a member of the club? I've been out on one run and will try and get out again this weekend. I've been overdoing it a little to try and complete the strava Specialized Spring Classics Challenge but getting there!

Kenny, send an email to secretary@johnstone-wheelers and Jann will advise on what to do to complete your membership. Welcome aboard!

  4. While looking for some guidance on a new front light I stumbled upon this useful comparison tool from Road cc.

    http://road.cc/lights2012/index-wide.php

You can select two different lights to compare side by side, using a view of a country lane as a backdrop. There is a dividing bar that splits the image in two, showing one of your chosen lights on either side of the bar, but this can be moved to see more of the view from one light or the other.

Hope it helps anyone looking for a new light.

I bought this turbo a few weeks ago http://www.wiggle.co...yer-vr-trainer/

Its early days but so far so good. It connects to a laptop to give a really full display of distance, speed, cadence, gradient, power and heart rate in both numbers and graphs. It works with an analogue (as oppossed to ANT) heart monitor, around £15 from Decathlon. You can save your routes and workouts, hopefully to show improvements over time!

It comes loaded with various routes and films to follow and a one year multi player license which may or not be useful. So far all I've done is ride against the clock varying the resistance to get used to the machine. Time will tell which features are useful and which are gimmicks.

    Cheers
